The first reason why athletes should not get paid is because they already get free things from their sponsors to their fans. “The NCAA athletes get paid with psychology classes, track suits, knee braces, and ice baths.” This proves that the athletes get free stuff some of it that they don’t even use. Also the more popular you get the more fans you have and more sponsorship you have which means more money/gifts.…

Over the past decades, what has continued to be one of the most debatable issues in the world of sports is whether or not college football players should get paid. My honest opinion is football that players should receive a certain proportion of money because of the service that college athletes provide to the institution they attend. In addition, they should be rewarded in a reasonable manner after putting their bodies out on the line, bringing in a tremendous amount of money, it will help with the football athletes to begin creating a sense of financial awareness, and finally it will attract more talented athletes.…

Maybe college athletes should get paid because they half to work really hard to get on the college teams and leagues. The players play sports a lot as kids too get into college basketball, football, lacrosse, and college soccer. College players spend a lot of time practising and planning for all of their games and they even show more hustle than the players from the NBA. This already proves that they could and should get paid. As much as we all love watching sports we also love how the different skills are like College to the NBA.But that’s not all we like, some of us even like the college players more than the NBA players but it’s not like we’re talking about the very skilled ones like Stephen Curry, Lebron James, and Chris Andersen.…

There are extensive amounts of controversy in our society today, such as whether or not college athletes should be paid or not. Even though college athletes receive many luxuries they still have to make there own living and support themselves. As reported by “Pay or Scholarship” written by Teengagement, it states, “Athletes are employees because they work under the control of the college.” As many people know a business has employees, if an athlete can be considered an employee to the college shouldn't they be paid like and employee? The Topic I decided to debate was should college athletes be paid a salary? The side that I decided to pick was the pro side. To begin, every year new college athletes are drafted, they are excited to play a college sport and represent their school.”Journalist Michael Wilbon has written that seeing the $11 billion deal between the NCAA and CBS/Turner Sports for March Madness between 2011 and 2024 prompted him to change his mind about paying student-athletes. First of all, this deal shows the amount of money the NCAA is bringing in over the course of one month alone. March Madness is one of the most watched sporting events in history. Not to mention the money being made off this event is not trickling down to the players, who are the stars of the tournament.”…

Some people believe that college athletes should be paid and others do not. The only thing wrong with paying athletes is they get paid in other ways. College athletes get scholarships, housing, coaches, and opportunities no other college student has. So maybe they shouldn’t get paid but when you step back and look at the whole picture; coaches get paid a lot of money for example coming from Nick Saban (football coach of University of Alabama) he makes over $7 million a year. But think of the team. Yes, the coaches put in a lot of effort to teach his players but the players do the real work.…

Both male and female athletes compete at such incredible levels that require physical talent and drive. Professional athletes are known to get paid salaries that reflect their talent and abilities. Regardless of gender, professional athletes are drafted to receive professional pay. However, equal pay for male and female athletes with the same credentials does not occur today.
