Good evening, my name is Evan Morrison. I am here today to talk to you about sexual discrimination.
Sexual discrimination means that a person gets treated in a less favorable manner because of their sex, and I imagine young people go through tough times at school just because they like the same gender or when a boy wants to be a girl. In this speech, I will try to change your views on discrimination and hopefully make a change and put a stop to all of this bullying. We are all unique in our own ways and we should respect everyone even though they might be a little weird.
When I was at school I used to get bullied a lot. They would call me names and make me feel very small and worthless; it all got so bad, I didn’t even want to come into school anymore because I was afraid of what people might think or say just because I liked men. I did have a support worker who used to tell me about my feelings and they would talk to me about things and it would always make me feel much better. Even my family didn’t accept that I liked men. They think I should be normal like everyone else. But what is normal?
It came to a point where they would say so many things to me. I would just let it go through one ear and go out the other and I think that really helped me. It was helping me make progress and get my strength back. If you were in this situation I don’t want you to feel bullied. I think you should stand up to the bullies and tell them what’s right. Yeah, it may be an opinion but at least you know its right.
We need a solution, to this problem and I think the best one would be to let people know in general. If the world realises that the problem is such a big issue, there is a better chance that we will do something about it. If we start to make people aware, that might help two men or women in every city which means we will help one hundred men and women from being discriminated. It doesn’t seem like much, but if a world realises how they helped out it would be like a real life chain of helping people and creating more happiness.
This is a case about a boy named Matthew Shepard, he was a 21 year old student at the University of Wyoming, he was tortured and murdered near Laramie In 1998. All this because he openly announced he was gay, so we need to stand up for those who deserve standing up for. After all all men and woman are equal. we can do this in school by standing up for kids who are getting bullied and report it so it doesn’t lead to a case of death.
In conclusion, gender discrimination is a worldwide problem and if we remove the issue from our country, we would be doing our world a great service.

Discrimination is still among our world today, and stays a constant issue. Many people would argue this accusation, and try to believe that the world today is better than it was years ago, but the fact is that it is still the same. Discrimination is not just among races or ethnic groups, it is among different genders, religions, and marriage partners. Today people argue about discrimination all of the time. Why is it still among us? What can be done? Why don’t we just let it be? But, in fact, none of these questions are ever solved and might never be answered because of the contrasting beliefs of society. Society has put discrimination into stereotyping and many other different forms, but the point is that discrimination is here to stay and…

PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is a psychiatric disorder that can occur following the experience or witnessing of life-threatening events such as the military combat, natural disasters, terrorism incidents, or any major tragedy. This is common in the life of veterans and is the leading cause of suicide among veterans. A VA patient who survived in Baghdad shares his experience with PTSD and explains how he knew he had this disability. Many veterans speak out about this issue and describe their continuous anger, alcohol addiction, and constantly wanted to fight. They usually feel very isolated and distant from their loved ones. One patient states, “PTSD involves rocketing into extreme states of stress re-activity; in the form of terror, rage, and uncontrollable impulses, and plunging into equally extreme states of being shut-down—exhaustion, emotional numbing, despair, and dissociation”. PTSD is about having fear and anxiety, allowing veterans to rage with anger and different emotion. There are many factors to PTSD, which affects others in different ways; or example, using video games to keep them occupied, spending money due to the lack of impulse control because of changes in their brain, and even not obtaining another job.…

At that time or even today, gays and lesbians have been treated with contempt and violence by their fellow citizens. There are still many different misconceptions about gays. Many people think that gays are pedophiles, or that gays recruit others to become gay. Everyday I can realize discriminatory behaviors against gays and lesbians in my school. My best friend is gay. When word spread among other students that he was gay, they subjected him to constant harassment and called him by ridiculous name. At first, I was shocked when he told me his sexual orientation. I thought he was kidding and tried to persuade him that he were mistaken. But when I know more about LGBT community, especially when I saw “Milk” – a film about Harvey Milk’s life, about his struggle for LGBT community’s human rights and his romantic relationship, I changed my attitude. Honestly, I really admire Milk and his accomplishments.…
