Thesis Statement: Teachers have the possibility to determine the future of the nation based on the education they provide to students. However with such a low salary the drive to become a teacher has fallen off in demand. I’m here to present a solution.
Verbatim Introduction: I personally value my education like many other students do. The base of that comes from our teachers and professors. Unfortunately there is a less demand to become a teacher due to such low pay. Salary needs to improve in order for education to move forward at the expectation of this nation.

For college graduates who have other options, this kind of pressure, for such low pay, doesn’t make much sense. So every year 20 percent of teachers in urban districts quit. Nationwide, 46 percent of teachers quit before their fifth year. The turnover costs the United States $7.34 billion yearly. The effect within schools — especially those in urban communities where turnover is highest — is devastating.
II. Cause
A. The state and federal governments are the source of teacher salaries. Many argue that it’s the graduated students that determine their own pay. Based on the level of past education and skills they bring to the table is what their pay check will consist of.
B. This cause is most highly recognized by economists. Based on the market for teaching the structure has failed. Unlike most jobs as time advances salaries adjust to the time period. Unfortunately for teachers as time moves on the pay has only adjusted to fit time period situations of inflation. President after president have promised for education reform but have failed to provide results teachers are among the lowest paid workers in the nation solutions are needed.
