According to” Piaget theory”, cognitive development involves a change in cognitive process and abilities. The cognitive level of these I observed was preoperational stage to operational stage. At the preoperational stage happen from age 2-7 year olds, in this stage, kids learn through pretend paly but still struggle with logic and taking other people opinion. When she was up in loft playing with her farm animals she understand why her pigs were different she told me you can squeeze one because it had air in it, but he other one doesn’t so you can squeeze. She also told me a story about how her dad went to Home Depo and that he brought wood ,but that he had to put it on top of the roof of the car because if he would put it inside it would poke them in the eyes. I observed a fourth-grade general education classroom that primarily consisted of Caucasian and Asian American students that are nine or ten years old. I watch Daisy throughout the day in multiple classes such as; Writing, Reading, Math, Art, Snack, Social Studies and Science. I believe "Piaget 's theory of cognitive development" best explains the cognitive development both in infancy and early childhood. His theory is explained by a theory of cognitive organization called schemes. Schemes are the "actions or mental representations that organize knowledge" (Santrock, 2008, p. 94).
