Ponyboy Bad Influence
Crimes, drugs dropouts, and violence? Do you really want such a young boy around all of this? Do you really want Ponyboy to live in such a corrupt environment? Ponyboy should definitely be put in a boys home because Ponyboy is surrounded by too many bad influences, he seems like he wants to have a good education and Pony could go into depression.

Ponyboy is surrounded by many bad influences that could affect his life. The environment that Pony lives in is a very corrupt environment, which has to lead him to grow up learning bad habits and attributes. Pony is an underaged smoker and is addicted to it because he has grown up with smokers all around him which has taught him that it is ok to smoke. This is an unhealthy habit for such a young teen and could affect his health drastically when he grows older or immediately. This

In chapter 1 in the novel Pony states that “I make good grades and have a high IQ and everything”.This lets us assume that Pony does very well in school and probably gets mostly A’s and B’s. This was before Pony had gotten too caught up in the fight with The Socs and The Greasers and getting involved in a crime with Johnny. If Pony continues to live where there are bad influences he will put all his focus on the fights, drugs, and problems The Greasers are involved in. There are many possibilities for Ponyboy to indulge in these fights and lose concentration in school. This can lower the chance of Pony succeeding and graduate high school. There are many dropouts surrounded by Pony which may an impact for him to go through the same path. This will impact his future and career he may turn out to be like the rest of The Greasers, dropouts and drug users as well which is not a good future Pony to have. With such a bright mind Pony should deserve to graduate from high school and go to college or university which will provide him a good job that can pay for his family and
