The person she loved was a warrior named Popo. He loved her just as her did but even begged the emperor to allow them to marry but his answered never changed. As the emperor got older he became ill as well with this information his enemies thought it would be a great time to attack. The emperor saw this and made a bribe the warrior who succeeded in defeating the enemy would marry his daughter. Ixtla did not like this for she only wanted to marry Popo. The warriors went in battle it was a long battle but in the end it was Popo who led the army against the enemy, after the battle they started on their way back but a few of these warriors were jealous and wanted to ruin it for Popo so they went ahead of everyone else and told the emperor that Popo had led them in battle but he had died. Hearing this Itxal was sadden at this and became very ill her mother brought witch doctors but they couldn’t help she was sick from a broken heart and decided if Popo had died she couldn’t live so she died.
