Pre-K Personal Statement
The vision of work that I have with children 5 years from now is to teach for a while then transfer into the role of a Program Coordinator to help design additional instructional and interactive materials for birth to Pre-K candidates that will help enhance their cognitive, social, reasoning, conception, fine and gross motor skills. I plan on developing technology or assessment tools that will allow teachers to help their students better understand different concepts or performing acts. I want the material draw interest of the candidate in which they will be involved and will not lose interest. In order for this to happen I plan on using the resources around me such as DPI, Smartstart services, and/or providing a survey to educators and

Competency Goal Four: To establish positive and productive relationships with families. As an early childhood educator, I have to maintain a positive and productive relationship with the families that come into my preschool. Parents entrust me with their children all day and, I make the parents and families feel as much a part of our classroom and a part of their child’s development. To create this relationship, I work to build an open, friendly and cooperative relationship with each of the children’s family. I make sure to let my families know about my open door policy where they can come into the classroom and stay for a short period of time. A great way to get families involved is to have a volunteer sign up for each of our event at school. I find this is a great way to get my parents involved in the school to help out.…

I provide care for children in a family style, loving atmosphere. I have designed my own program that will provide a structured pre-school curriculum. Weekly themes will cover numbers, letters, shapes and colors. I also believe music, communication, and movement are very important parts of the healthy development of a child. I care for a very small group, as it is my belief that fewer children equal better care. Because I can give more "one-on-one attention than a big center, I am able to encourage each child to grow according to their needs, not mine. I provide the parents with daily reports and a seasonal newsletter to communicate schedules and routines during this wonderful time of growth, exploration and change. I have CPR and First…

During my senior year of high school I decided to join the school's newspaper staff. I had no prior experience, but I was quick to volunteer and cover big local events. After a year of writing all genres (sports, opinions, news, features), I received my biggest accomplishment: first place in Sports Writing, in the West Virginia Journalism Competition. Without dedication and determination, I would have never been able to win that award. There were many times the work was difficult, but I realized how important my role was on the newspaper staff and made sure to never let down the staff (any time a member of the staff was missing from class, it made it difficult for the entire…
