Our approach
Increasing physical functioning for people waiting for THA seems a complex intervention as it contains several interacting components (61). Complex interventions may work best if tailored to local circumstances and developed in local individual practice (61,62). Within a daily practice setting, Ziekenhuis Gelderse Vallei, we aim to develop evidence that can be combined with context and professional expertise (39). Integrating research into practice should lead to tailored personalized care: “what is best for this person, at this point in time, considering his or her healthcare condition”(63). In all studies physical functioning related to the individual context will be a key
