Our nation is currently in the middle of grim economic circumstances of stagflation. Inflation is high, and getting higher. Unemployment is high, and getting higher. While all of this happens, GDP continues to drop. If nothing is done about this, our nation is sure to suffer worse consequences than we have already been forced to endure. Our economy will be flushed down the toilet. This new economic policy is the answer to our prayers. With the perfect blend of fiscal and monetary policy, we will achieve our goal of curbing inflation and will reduce the price of goods and services. Although GDP will initially go down because of the decrease in personal income, overtime the reduction in prices will eventually lead to an increase in consumption, which will help to stabilize the economy overtime. Overtime, we will see an increase in GDP and employment rates. This is exactly what we need in this time of economic crisis.…

The Affordable Health Care Act is a very in-depth process. The changes to the health care system were attempted to be passed in prior years by Bill Clinton. However, it failed at this time and was implemented in the United States by the current president Barack Obama. The Congress diversity of Democrats vs. Republican’s was very similar in both Clintons and Obamas time in office. There were many steps that were taken in creating this policy, and some of those steps succeeded, and some of those steps failed. Any new process would be expected to have some issues to work through as it was created. The Affordable Health Care Act still has some issues to work on, but many steps succeeded and that is why it has been implemented during Obamas term.…

Learning how to gain the attention of viewers by evoking emotions out of their audience. So, before viewing a deceiving advertisement or a biased article about either candidate, try to watch the full interview or the full debate before someone else’s opinion steers you in the wrong direction. As well as most media outlets do not even give their readers insight on what the candidates’ plans for the future are. I do not think the right topics are being discussed. The media just talks about past accusations and what has happened rather than what will happen, or what the plans for the future are. We live in a time period where technological advances can give us substantial benefits for the future, however these candidates are not questioned on these important matters. Instead of asking either candidate what they did 7 – 10 years ago, why not ask either of them what technological improvements will they dedicate to their presidential term that will impact energy, vaccine cures for diseases that have haunted this world for 2,000+ years and future epidemics, educational technology, as well as overall well…

On Election Day in 2000, candidate Al Gore was ahead of his rival George. W. Bush in the popular vote, while Bush led in electoral votes. In the final moments of the election, a recount of Florida votes worked in Bush’s favor, and he ultimately won the election. Although George Bush lost the popular vote, the electoral vote allowed him to win. This election is a prime example of the effectiveness and priority of the Electoral College, though many people question whether the Electoral College should be abolished for the newly announced National Popular Vote Plan. Despite these beliefs, the Electoral College should not be reformed for the National Popular Vote Plan due to multiple reasons. To assess the importance of the Electoral College, we must first go back in time to the origin of this great country called America.…

In the first 2012 Vice Presidential debate, “The Foreign Policy Debate,” both Joe Biden and Paul Ryan were asked how their catholic beliefs affect their view on abortion. Both candidates used implied promises, and collective sanctions of directive language to make people vote for them. Although directive language requires numerous techniques in order for success, implied promises and collective sanctions were key to Biden and Ryan’s sides, because the use of directive language allows people to direct others to do what they believe represents the correct action.…

“Ultimately, the task of rejecting sectarianism and extremism is a generational task — a task for the people of the Middle East themselves,” Obama said. “No external power can bring about a transformation of hearts and minds.” The president’s remarks came against the backdrop of an expanded U.S. military campaign against the Islamic State group, with airstrikes now hitting targets in both Iraq and Syria. CBS News has confirmed the U.S. and its Arab allies have launched more airstrikes against Islamic terrorists in Syria. Meanwhile, an Algerian group linked to ISIS has beheaded French hostage Herve Gourdel, who was abducted Sunday. As CBS 2’s Tony Aiello reported, Obama avoided the polite language of diplomacy as he took aim at ISIS. “There can be no reasoning, no negotiation with this brand of evil,” he said. “The only language understood by killers like this is the language of force.” A coalition of five Arab nations joined the U.S. this week in the strikes in Syria: Bahrain, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates and Qatar. “Already, over 40 nations have offered to join this coalition,” Obama said. “Today, I ask the world to join in this effort.” Late Wednesday afternoon, the president scored a victory when the United Nations Security Council adopted a resolution to enact a global ban on…

I believe it is important to discuss politics with others and take interest in what goes on in our country. I would like to debate others whom have a different viewpoint from me, to see who has a stronger argument and why. Also, it will help to better inform me, and the other debater, on what the candidate of one’s choice stands for. I believe debating politics and recognizing differences is what makes a democracy. If a person wants to stand for something, they must know why and be able to prove why they stand for a particular cause/candidate. I myself will strive to become informed to the best of my ability on the issues and candidates of this election. Watching the news, reading up on politics, and researching on candidates will help me with…
