Presidential Speech
Good afternoon, my name is Danielle; you may recognize me from previous meetings as one of your PR officers. Today I am here to talk to you about why I would make a great President of Spanish Club. Being a previous officer, knowing my responsibilities, and having a game plan are all reasons that I would make an outstanding candidate to lead this year’s Wheaton North Spanish club to its goal of experiencing the Hispanic culture in a fun and exciting way. As a previous officer, I am familiar with working closely alongside a small group of peers as well as our facilitators, Ms. Ruiz and Mr. Soto, to form a structure that supports Spanish Club and ensures that it is the best it can be. The role of this small team is to work together to create, decide on, and oversee the meetings and activities we as Spanish Club do. As the new Spanish Club President, I would start each meeting with an overview of what the meeting or event will entail. During meetings my job will be to keep us on track and focused with our agenda for that day. At the end of each meeting, it will be my responsibility to remind everyone of upcoming events and meetings to ensure that all members are well informed.
My experience as a previous Spanish Club officer, knowledge of the responsibilities as a President, and always having the goal of Spanish Club in mind is why I think I would make a great President of Wheaton North’s Spanish Club. Thank you.

John F. Kennedy will always be remembered for two things— how his presidency ended, but also how it started. In his famous inaugural address, he discusses his goals for the future of the country. Given in the midst of the Cold War, Kennedy uses his speech to inspire the Americans listening, hoping for a better relationship with the USSR during his presidency. During paragraphs twelve through twenty-one of his speech, he speaks about his hope for improved he appeals to pathos by using anaphora and diction, appeals to ethos with his position as the leader of America, and appeals to logos by describing how the USSR will react to his plans.…

As President of FBLA you must be a well rounded, organized, and motivated individual. You have to have interpersonal skills and you have to be confident while still being compassionate. Being given this opportunity is something that I do not take for granted, because I believe that I am meant to help others through this role. In the past our chapter has been a very stagnant chapter and I plan to change this. Currently we are planned to host our high school's first Thanksgiving canned food drive. We will be donating these goods to the people in need in our community. This Christmas, we plan to do a "giving tree" (combined with FCCLA) and then donate the clothing we receive. We are also going to do a Christmas basket project this winter. This…

John F. Kennedy, the 35th president of United State of America, delivered an inaugural address which later became a precious historical record. In his passionate and cogent speech, Kennedy expressed a intense message to the whole world that, peace, in fact, can be achieved as long as people have faith toward freedom, and by using several writing strategies like Using Emotion-Arousing Words, Parallelism, Anaphora and so on, he efficiently showed that not only America, but also the whole world would benefit from the peaceful land that we all expected.…

We are “big picture” thinkers and focus on completing tasks (Robbins & Coulter, 2012). We are considered natural leaders and would make a good leader for the project. To be successful in a new market segment, I will lead the team to accomplish the goals set by the company. I have witnessed Lavorce’s work ethic; therefore making my decision as the team lead easier (Robbins & Coulter, 2012). I should be able to effectively place the remaining members in specific positions, after the department and goals are more defined. Their positions will be much easier to assign given their personality results.…

The first and second inaugural addresses compare and contrast in many ways to show the different views of national identity that Abraham Lincoln shows throughout the speeches. They compare because of issues to end the war or defuse the possibility of war. They contrast in many ways also, in the first address Lincoln believes that the issue of a war will pass over the country and not be much of an issue. He also gives chances to the people that have started this conversation to end what they started. Whereas in the second inaugural address lincoln takes a more religious approach. Lastly, the issue of slavery is very different during the two inaugural addresses.…

Last year I was asked to be a small group leader for incoming 7th grade students this year. Having known what it felt like to be a new student in a completely different school I jumped on the opportunity to help. I, like Billy tried to be open and welcoming, encouraging the 7th graders to become involved in the Xaverian community just like Billy did for me and I’m sure many others. My goal was to be able to help the 7th graders in any situation whether they needed advice or just want to share a funny story. As a student council senator I would try to do the same. I would strive to always be friendly and kind to all Xaverian students wanting everyone to feel welcome. I would encourage other to join clubs and activities and go on service projects like X-Act and Christmas in the city. Most of all I would want each and every student at Xaverian to feel accepted and to feel excited, knowing that they are each a key part in the larger, greater, Xaverian…

I’ve given my all in everything I do and demonstrated while participating in other extracurricular activities. I’m a strong speaker and I always do what I am told. I believe I have the qualifications needed to be captain for the 2010-2011 color guard season(s). I know I’ve had the experience in leading a group like this and not only have I led the guard out into a performance I’ve also taken charge in most of my extracurricular activities I’ve stage managed performances, helped in properties, and ran sound for my previous theater arts/choir performances so taking charge really won’t be something new me. I’ve learned from my previous experience, which have helped me surpass my challenges in now a day situations.…

Although I may not hold any official leadership positions, I believe that I possess the necessary characteristics needed in any good leader and enjoy utilizing them. The main place that I see myself as a leader is on the soccer field. On the JV soccer team for the last two years, I played nearly every available minute at center back, or middle defense, rarely coming off the field. As a player who can see nearly the entire field, a center back has many other jobs other than one on one defending. One of the center back's principle responsibilities is to make sure that all of the other nine outfield players are in the correct position.…

Apart from the Toby Keith Foundation Teen Board and the Junior Rotarian Club, I have volunteered with various other organizations such as the Red Cross, Moore Food and Resource Center and the OCARTA Wellness Hub. I have chosen to dedicate my time to these community service activities because I know that a small effort can go a big way in changing other's lives. Along with community service activities, I have also dedicated my time within my Latino community. I have attended numerous leadership conferences aimed at Hispanic students, including the Hispanic Youth Leadership Conference at the Oklahoma City University and the TREE Conference at the University of Oklahoma. I was also selected to attend the Latinos Without Borders Fall Camp at the University of Oklahoma. Attending all of these events have changed my life, because I have learned how to fight the barriers that plague my community and culture.
