from Good Shepard community services. She has conducted various professional development seminars, on CDOS information to technology, for parents, teachers, students, and Skills Teachers at Rikers Island.
In addition, Dr. Tyson coordinated College and Career Fairs for Alternative High Schools and Professional Learning weekend workshops, using funds from a $100,000.00 grant, for teachers and administrators that service incarcerated and transfer young adults. The focus of the workshops was Efficacy from Harvard and technology from ISTE.
Dr. Tyson received her Doctorate in Education and Leadership from Saint John Fisher College, Rochester, Master of Science in Education and Administration from Fordham University, Master of Science in Education, Language and Learning from the College of New Rochelle, and a Master of Science from the State of New York. In addition, recipient of her Bachelors of Science in Speech Pathology from Lehman College.
Selected to participate in several New York City leadership initiatives, such as, the Aspiring Principal Leadership Academy, Executive Leaderships Institute (ELI), and Executive Leadership Aspiring Principal Program (ALAP). Recognized for Outstanding Achievement with Student Involvement from Bill Gates Diploma Plus. Furthermore, recipient of bonuses for School Improvement from 2003 to 2008.
Dr. Tyson’s passion is social justice for incarcerated youth and advocates for services and supports for students with disabilities and English as a New Language (ELL).
