INTRODUCTIONThis is a case study concerning a patient presenting with low abdominal pain, frequent micturation and dysuria. I will discuss the consultation and show how I used the problem solving consultation style detailed by Alison Crumbie. This involves listening to the patients' initial complaint and developing hypothetical diagnosis. Focused questioning and clinical examination and investigations will then be used to eliminate some of the initial hypotheses. The patients' perspective of their problem will be addressed and the synthesis of gathered information will enable the practitioner to arrive at a differential diagnosis and to agree on a treatment plan with the patient so that they can manage their problem.…
In the following pages I will discuss the nature, scope and impact of problems that can arise within the industry, what can be done to resolve the issues, and how we can evaluate the final outcome.…
In the future technology will become so prevalent that it’s only natural that people will start “upgrading” themselves, thus effectively making them cybernetic organisms or in shorter words a cyborg. A cyborg is defined by Webster as a person whose physiological functioning is aided by or dependent upon a mechanical or electronic device. There are a number of people who currently are enhanced by a machine including, Kevin Warwick, Jesse Sullivan, Jens Naumann, or even Jerry Jalava. All the technology aiding them is different, but it all amounts to the same fact, something that they previously couldn’t do is now possible thanks to a machine.…
The Army Problem Solving Process has become the rule of thumb for problem solving and is a methodological approach for making decisions. Followed correctly, it leads to the “best” decisions given the degree of uncertainty and complexity of a situation. The Army Problem Solving Process is a tool that provides a standard, systematic method to define and analyze a problem, gather information, develop criteria, generate and analyze possible solutions, choose the best solution and implement an action plan that solves the problem.1…

When I saw the problem, I first thought it was not going to be possible to solve. Meaning; that I would not solve this problem without more information. When I sent the cat over first the mouse and dog did not fight by their selves. Then whenever I sent the dog or mouse over, they would fight with the cat. I even thought about leaving the cat on the existing shore and trying to move the mouse and dog, and found that the cat fought with them there on the existing shore. My thoughts then were that there had to be a trick to this. I had a conceptual block and knew there was something else to the problem that was not mentioned in the writing [ (Morris & Maisto, 2002) ].…
There were many ways we could have done things to make the adjustment more comfortable for all involved. Our problem was money management and being able to afford a somewhat reasonable way of living that was not the polar opposite of what we were used to living.…

This paper consists of the similarities and differences between two therapies used in psychology. The approaches are known as the Client-Centered Approach and the Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. They are both used daily, world-wide, and can be seen in different ways. In psychology, the use of therapy, approaches, and techniques are used all the time. The client-centered model is all about the clients themselves and the cognitive behavioral therapy relies on direct counseling tools to control and guide the client. Cognitive behavioral therapy is more short-term treatment is structured and is going towards a goal whereas the client-centered model aims towards asking questions, makes interpretations, and involves judgment. They are different approaches with the same concept.…

A main strength of cognitive psychology is that this approach has tended to use a scientific approach through the use of laboratory experiments. A strength of using laboratory experiments is that they are high in control therefore researchers are able to establish cause and effect. For example Loftus and Palmer were able to control the age of the participants, the use of video and the location of the experiment. All participants were asked the same questions (apart from changes in the critical words), and the position of the key question in the second was randomised. Furthermore, such standardised experiments are easy to test for reliability. However, as many cognitive studies are carried out in laboratory settings they can lack ecological validity. When cognitive processes such as memory and theory of mind are studied in artificial situations it may be difficult to generalise the findings to everyday life.…
Writing, something that has never befriended me, will always be an obstacle in my life. For me, it’s difficult to just sit down at a table and write something interesting and creative. I try to do so every time I am assigned a essay, and sometimes it turns out to be successful, but most of the time it is unsuccessful. Every time I am given a written assignment, I go through the same routine: I sit at the table and stare at my computer with my fingers on the keyboard. I have noticed that I come up with a lot of ideas, but I focus mainly on how to structure them while writing. In three articles written by Anna Lomott, Marie Foley and Donald M. Murray, they all discuss different strategies on how to draft, structure and revise an essay. They all have taught me a better way on how to make my writing strategy more successful in college than it was before.…
