Problems With Being Unsocial And Socially Affected My Life
Staying away from the crowd, keeping quiet that explains me. Meeting new people, and having to socialize with others is not easy. I have a problem with being unsocial, and it has really affected my life.

Throughout my life it has been hard for me to meet new people, especially the ones I know won't be there that long. My step dad had his own tattoo company, and my mom was popular at her job. So people would be in and out of our house all the time. We used to have weekend parties, and go to bbqs. As always I was the one kid who stayed by their mom, and didn’t go play with the other kids. I did play and hang out with the people that I had known for a long time. They brought others along and I didn't really get to know them, because I didn't

I do not mind being around big crowds, but that doesn't mean I want to crash every party I am invited to. Having an active social life and extending my network of friends is relatively important to me, but it is not the most crucial thing. I have managed to strike an important balance between actively involving myself in my larger social network and spending quality time with a few intimate friends. Although I may not always be the conversation-starter or the "life of the party", I am generally a very outgoing individual, whether among friends or people I am less familiar with. I can easily relate to both extremes on the personality spectrum, and have an easier time delving in and out of the internal and external worlds.…

Growing up homeschooling, I wanted to break the typical homeschool stereotype kid. I had friends, I went to camps, and I joined many events. However, I had an introvert personality. And often times my friends neglected my existence because of my silence during their conversation; they went out with their classmates from school, leaving me unaccompanied and forgotten back in the corner. At camp, I ate my lunch alone, spent free time alone, and sat in the back alone. Not because I wanted to isolate myself from people, but the circle of people pushed me out the circle whenever I tried to join a crowd. I could not fit in.…

In our daily life, we have to put up with rules, judgemental people and drama. Most of us stay within those imaginary lines to be okay. We accept the things that people tell us and change in order to fit into society. Although you can not see it, it is common for us to try to fit in. We do it in order to not get bullied or judged. Being a person who follows the idea of conformity can be led to the idea of you being a, “goodie two shoes”. Unlike a non-conformist, they can be more of an out-going person. Although I am against the idea of being a full conformist, I can not say that I do not follow it. In order to stay out of trouble or harms way, it can lead for you to end up following the rules.…

Every time I pass by I have to like, say excuse me and they end up not hearing me. I end up squishing, bumping and (add another) through the people just to get to my locker. Secondly, like you're in a rush trying to get to your class or somewhere in the school and people tend to block the hallways without intention. They act like they don't even notice you. At hebrew school, I feel like an outsider due to my complete and utter lack of relationships with people there. Having been to elementary school with the majority of the kids and having attended to hebrew school for a decade with them, one would assume I had bonded with the people there, but the truth is quite to the contrary. I had never been friends with most of the people at hebrew school, yet I had been able to strike up a conversation with many of them. Since I stopped going to school with them, I became unable to converse in the same manner. Conversation topics are limited when I don’t go to school with the people there. Additionally, the people there aren’t willing to invite me into their conversations in the way I can with the cross-country team. The commonalities that I have with people at school aren’t there. Oftentimes, I’m just a social outsider, but drifting around people, alone and friendless. At hebrew school I am able to handle myself in class, yet during dinner, I find myself on my phone, because there is nobody to talk to, an environment that is far from welcoming, a situation that causes me to feel as if I am foreign. People do not make an effort to include me and there are no kind, welcoming gestures. Hebrew school has a different feel, an unwelcome feeling, one diametrically different from the way I feel with my…

Waiting eagerly in our school garden, I was about to meet the five fourth graders that I was going to be grouped with for the rest of the year. I was a bit casual about the “meet and greet” because I could not determine how well I would fair with these little children. I could not predict whether these kids will enjoy my company or loathe it. After a lengthy thirty minute wait, the kids began to slowly flood onto the field. I was introduced to each student one by one and the first thought that ran through my mind was “How am I going to connect with someone who’s so different?” They were so reserved and quiet and I found it troubling having to find something to stimulate these them. My mind quickly jumped to all the basic questions to try to…

So when I started secondary school, I saw it as an opportunity to start afresh. No one knew me, I could be a different person, and maybe people wouldn’t be so mean. And at first, it worked. I had a group of friends, which was a novelty for me, seeing as it had never happened before, and I made more of an effort in lessons. My parents didn’t mind that I was going out every night to hang out in the park. They were just relieved that I wasn’t still a loner. I actually spoke to them at home, told them about my day; they were amazed.…

Being called the “new kid” is anything but foreign to me, seeing as I have been identified with this label with every school change. Throughout my school career, I have changed schools many times and have grown comfortable with being called the “new kid”. Although, as I started to grow accustomed to the new schools, I realized how many other individuals go through the same thing as I have. The first day at a new school is not easy, whether it applies to making new friends or adjusting to different classes. I would sit in the cafeteria and scout out how many individuals were sitting alone without anyone to make them feel welcome. As a result, I made it my goal at the beginning of each school year to sit with the new kids to help make their adjustment…
