Prodigious Leaders: Gloria Steinem, Martin Luther King, Jr.
When I’m asked to think of prodigious leaders, individuals such as Gloria Steinem and Martin Luther King, Jr. come to mind; individuals who are, or were determined, uplifting, caring, and authoritative. Most importantly, these people come to mind for the reason that they gave their all to make a positive impact on the world around them. These individuals have dedicated their lives to inspiring and encouraging people to stand up for what is right. They have challenged society to bring about peace and equality. This is what a great leader does.
A great leader should be so determined to achieve their goal, whatever it may be, that they will stop at nothing to make it happen. By “goal,” I must mention that I mean a positive, selfless goal—one that is backed with commendable intentions and doesn’t aim to hurt or bring down others. A leader should aim to fight for the rights of the people. A great leader is always willing to go the extra mile to do something great—and they

They don’t believe in giving up. However, a true great leader doesn’t do this on their own—they encourage others to get involved in the process. They promote creativity and accept new ideas with open arms considering a great leader realizes the importance of ideas from a diverse population. They know how essential it is for their followers to feel some responsibility towards the cause and to feel that they have some say in the outcome. This is how a great leader gains, and holds on to followers—by including and welcoming anyone (and their input) to the cause. A great leader cares, and is always emotionally involved. They put their all into a task or cause—no matter how much time or effort it takes. They take responsibility for achieving their goal, while also taking responsibility for their actions and accept any repercussions their actions might

Outstanding leaders are often those who display distinguishing charactoristics of true statesmanship. They are not people who are arrogant enough to believe that they know everything about any one subject but instead, are humble and studious. Great leaders set clear cut and realistic goals. They are the kind of people who can see the big picture and scope out a path to get there, never waivering, with great confidence, they lead the way. They are not always the charming type but instead have a way about them of convincing others to join them or to understand their philosophy of the given situation. They are often likeable and seemingly outgoing. The great leaders of yesterday and today have proved to be very influential throughout history. A leader can be defined simply as someone who rises up and creates a path for those who cannot do it themselves. Samuel Adams led the United States through the process of gaining the new country an identity. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. guided the black community through southern racism, and is responsible for the advancement of civil rights in the twentieth century. Susan B. Anthony was the head of the women’s rights movement to gain female suffrage. All of these leaders share something in common; for without the support of the every day people of the world, none of the three would have been successful in their goals as leaders.…

A good leader has great vision. He knows where he wants to go and he knows how to motivate people to believe in the same vision he has for his group and life. He views things as what they could be and not what they are. A good leader is a very passionate person. He is intensely obsessed in whatever he is focused on. He also has compassion for his fellows. While he has goals to accomplish, he consistently cares for the individuals that support him. A good leader is not a selfish individual only thinking about his wants and needs. Also, a good leader is determined in attaining his goals. It is undeniably true that the key to leadership is accomplishing the tasks at hand while building relationships.…

A good leader is, in my perception, a person who, like Jim Collins is shy and strong at the same time, which does live, as also Bernabè did, for the achievement of the company o the society he is operating for and not for the personal achievement. He is working for the general benefit, and not for the benefit of himself or just to achieve more money.…

The Oxford English Dictionary defines a leader as one who guides others in action or opinion. Leadership is a strong quality that allows a person to have an influence over the thoughts and actions of others. When a group is being oppressed, it is a great leader who would be able to stand up for those people. Leaders have been seen throughout history, through government systems, revolutions and other movements. During the Civil Rights Movement, Martin Luther King chose to take that role to solve the unjust oppression that was occurring. King possessed the characteristics of a great leader; believing in equality, non-violent civil disobedience and a strong call to action. Through these, King was able to be a successful leader to the oppressed and had a strong influence across the world.…

A good leader to me is someone who takes a stand for what they do and they’re not afraid to die for what they represent. Now more often then not Martin Luther King is mentioned when people think of good leader, and it’s true when you think of a good leader Martin Luther King comes to everyone’s mind well unless you’re racist. Though when I think of a good leader only a couple people come to mind and through those people on person I think takes the cake for good leader. Sheryl Underwood!! I have never been so serious Sheryl Underwood is a great leader you know why because she stands to what she believes in. I am not even the same team like she’s a republican and I’m a Democrat but it’s like I would still follow her, but we’re talking about historic leaders so I would have to pick other Martin Luther King and or Abraham Lincoln. I know for a fact from watching Abraham Lincoln Vampire hunter that his leadership style was Participative because he would always ask for his friends help with certain things. Now I’m not specifically sure about Martin but I’m pretty sure he was also a participative leader as well because I’m sure he got help from his fellow friends and at the same time had a finally say in what was going to be said. Though I also think he could have been an Authoritarian because I don’t think he had help in his “I have a dream speech” So in my opinion he could have been either…

In society, we all have leaders. A leader is someone who is trustworthy, who creates an inspiring vision of the future, and motivates and inspires people to engage with that vision. There are three people who I think are leaders. One is Marilyn Monroe. She inspired me to pursue my dream of being an actress. Another person I think is a great leader is Gabby Douglas. She was a gymnast and made me want to be a famous gymnast. Lastly, the person I think is a leader is John Dimaggio. He was a voice actor on Adventure Time and it made me want to be a voice actor too. If these people didn’t exist, society wouldn’t be society.…
