Rudy Giuliani Rudolph William Louis "Rudy" Giuliani was born on May 28th1944. He grew up in Brooklyn, and then moved to Garden City New York all his life with his two parents. He attended Manhatten College where he received a bachelor’s degree in political science and became a lawyer graduating from NYU law. As time past he found an in on a job and joined the United States Attorneys Office for the southern district of NY in 1970. He was appointed the United States Attorney spot after he had built up seniority and became known after his first big prosecution for a U.S representative. After putting away many other crime busters in NYC such as Haitian asylem seekers who entered the country illegally, and wall-street figures who were promoting insider trading, Giuliani was named Associate attorney General, which was the highest position in the department of justice. He put away a record breaking 4,152 people including eleven mafia members while a prosecutor. After reigning from prosecution Rudy Giuliani ran for mayor in 1994 and won. Rudy was mayor from 1994-2001. Many people feel that Rudy was a great mayor 70% of NY’s population were very happy with his improvements. One of the many memorable events was on the day of the 50th anniversary for the United Nations. Yasir Arafat who was the leader of Palestine had come all the way to the states to attend this event uninvited.
