Reflection is a practical device of self assessment and evaluation as it allows you to identify areas where you feel you are performing well and highlight the areas that need improvement. By recording my feelings in my reflective journal I am able to see where I believe my teaching practice will excel and where I will require further assistance.…

The German Chancellor, the President of South Korea, the President of Taiwan, and a US Supreme Court Justice. What do all these jobs have in common? They are all positions held by women. However, in our modern day patriarchal-based society, we have a negative connotation towards female politicians. The common misconception of most women is that they are not built to lead. Nevertheless, this is a myth that cannot be backed by evidence unless sexist ideas have now become a reliable source. Throughout history we have had extraordinary female politicians, but we have also had male politicians that do not fit the characteristics of leader, so the idea that women are not as good politicians is illogical.…
Reflections on the self are difficult to create, since most individuals don't spend time enveloped in intrinsic contemplation. Assessment of personal skills is a difficult task usually, however, when reviewing past work it is much more obvious to see just how much one has changed and grown over such a short period of time. Despite only having a couple weeks with this material, I know that what I have learned here will stay with me and allow me to continue to better myself and to keep working on my…
| As reflection deepens, the focus should move away from concern with the ‘technical’ aspects of the classroom towards wider issues. A good reflective commentary should also contain thoughts about what the process of reflection has taught you about yourself as a learner and as a teacher. Your commentary should include some analysis about how your reflection has led you to consider wider issues (this discussion should be supported by reading) and about how the person you are has had an impact on your developing reflective processes.…
Your self concept reflects much about you and is eminent in your verbal and nonverbal communication. How you feel about yourself on the insides reflects and shines brightly on the outside. We are not born with our identity; it is given to us through the reflected appraisals of our parents, friends, and teachers. Reflected appraisals are messages that you get about yourself from others. (Weaver et al., 2009)…

For my chosen reflective assignment, I decided to first reread my whole reflective assignment to find any obvious mistakes that stood out at first. I then found a few spelling errors, grammar mistakes and I just took out some small pieces that didn’t make sense and added new text. Overall, I chose this reflective assignment in Ms. Gary’s class since it was my favorite prompt and it was the one I thought I performed my best on. That is why in this piece of writing I didn’t have to make many corrections, other than careless mistakes while writing under pressure since it was timed.…
In a nutshell, my reflecting skills largely extended through writing this essay. Using Gibb’s model of reflection helped me analyze critical situations from various angles by trying to put pieces together to conjure up a picture that denotes my thoughts and feelings appropriately. Reflecting on this experience drew my attention to the neglected aspects of my personality and helped me explore them in greater depth. It also raised my awareness of the influence of social conscience against my willingness to rejections. (81…
