The American Humane Association (AHA) is a non-partisan group that protects and advocates for the welfare of children and animals, and has an unique agenda to help both, unlike many other groups. The AHA has been effective in achieving its goal in helping both children and animals in the past and there seems to be no reason why they would not be successful in the years to come. But, it would appear that they do not lobby at all, and any record of them lobbying is from 1940 which could lead to them not achieving their goals as a group.
On the other hand, the AHA has achieved other goals that have spread their mission. For example, their “No Animals Were Harmed®” program protects animals in entertainment and their Red Star® Rescue Animal Emergency Services program has rescued and given a home to millions of animals who have been in tragedies.

For example, no information is given on account of their lobbying or budget, and after being e-mailed more than five days ago they have not returned any information. When asked about the cons of the American Humane Association it is written, “Poor management. Waste money. Use donations to have huge expensive fund raisers. Raise money to pay the people raising money. Very little money goes to programs. Management cares more about publicity for themselves than actually helping animals....the "mission" is superficial” (www.glassdoor.com). Such reviews leave questions in the minds of supporters of the group, and it is said that no one should spend their money on such a selfish corporation. The AHA’s budget is not viewable to the public and this is possibly why; they spend their money on things that do not contribute to their mission
