Pros of Magnet Schools
All magnet schools have a theme that makes them more diverse and appealing to students (Chen). Magnet schools use a different method of teaching than traditional schools, where students get to work on assignments that are “hands on” (MSA). In fact, some magnet schools are called “Montessori” schools where students are seen as intrigued children who want to learn (Chen). Most magnet schools accept students without discrimination, which leads to them being more diverse- by social class and race (MSA). Additionally, magnet schools have higher test scores because they attract the brightest students (APECS).
