August 24, 2014 All of my life, I have been trying to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. When you are young, it is a question you are asked a lot and generally we chose a career based on what we are interested in at the moment. I have gone from artist to professional cowgirl to superstar to teacher to veterinarian; but now that I have gotten older, I have decided what I truly want to do with my life and I am beyond excited to be making my first step towards my career by attending my first semester of college in the pre-nursing program. A series of events throughout my high school years have led to my decision: my dream is to become a medical doctor. My freshman year of high school, I signed up for a health class at my school because I heard that it was easy. It was not long before I was in love. Everything about the medical field fascinated me, which was surprising to me because I had never had an interest in the medical field before. My teacher, Regina Spach, was a huge influence on my love of the medical field. She made everything health-related so interesting and fun – there was never a dull moment in her class and I looked forward to it every single day. The following years, I took all of the other health classes, resulting in graduating with Health Science as my “cluster” (we had to take a full group of classes in order to graduate). Even my graduation project was medical-related; my topic was therapy involving horses, or Equine Therapy (I put two of my favorite things, horses and medicine, together). By my senior year, there was no doubt in my mind that I wanted to go into the medical field. At a young age, I set a life goal for myself. My goal is to help as many people as I possibly can and make a difference in their lives. I have always tried my hardest to help people as much as I can throughout my life, saying, “If I have it to give, I will give
