For me, Psalm 139 is the most beautiful Psalm meditating on the omnipresence of God that’s why I chose this. This Psalm 139 made me realize that wherever I am, God is always with me and that God has a perfect knowledge of me, and all my thoughts and actions are open before him. God knows the whole thing about me inside and out, through and through. Everything I do, every thought that goes through my mind, every step I take, every plan I make, every word I speak, God knows them before they ever happen. God knows what is behind me and before me. Indeed, I am never on my own and I am not alone. The question is, will it have an effect on how I act and live my life? Well, the fact that God knows everything about me can either be a very comforting thought, or a very disturbing thought or probably both at the same time. I’m reminded of a story where these children are all lined up in the cafeteria of a religious school for lunch and at the head of the table was a large pile of apples. The teacher made a note on the end stating: “Take only one, God is watching.” And on the other end stating: “Take all you want. God is watching the apples.” This also reminds me of a situation when I was riding a jeep and there was a note at the top side of the jeep saying: “God knows who does not pay” and some may even revise it as “God knows Judas not pay.” Think about it, God know all of our faults and failures. He knows all our feelings and our frustrations as well as our future and faithfulness. We cannot hide anything from him. So because God knows us so intimately, we can talk to him about anything and that’s what I like about it. I like to be open to God. Actually, I always thought of him as my secret friend who will always be at my back and will always get my back. Often when we are hurting, we feel very isolated and very lonely because we think that there is no one who love and care for us but then again, we are very wrong for
