Abstract

There are many different types of nurses all over, but each has a different task to follow. Nurses in general are trained and set out in the world to generally help others. Nursing is at such a high demand nowadays that it’s really attracting a lot of people who don’t even have a career choice set coming out of high school. Psychiatric nurses are trained in behavioral therapy, which basically allows them to teach psychiatric patients on how to deal with several challenges leading to their disorders. In my opinion, to be a psychiatric nurse you possess three skill qualities; patience, manners and caring. This research paper is to inform and educate the reader on a better understanding of his/her knowledge of the general roles of an everyday psychiatric nurse.

There are many different types of nurses around the country but none more popular and recognized than a psychiatric nurse. Although psychiatric nurses are usually known to be in mental institutes, most medical professionals are aware of the risk factor and challenges it comes with such as; under increasing pressure from employers, the public and law. Psychiatric nurses are finding it difficult to please everyone. The threat of litigation is said to create anxieties that may lead nurses to rethink their approach to care because they know they will be punished if they get it wrong. In this research paper, the profession of being a psychiatric nurse is to be informed, as well as its pay and high demand of nurses now and for years to come. Nurses may be the most in-demand health care position in the country. It is said that nurses in general, constitute the largest health care occupation with 2.3 million jobs and its employment will grow faster than any other occupation through 2012. But the main question is, why nursing? Nursing is a great profession and in extreme high demand especially for males. It’s so popular
