That’s where the study and practice of psychology come in. Psychologists study people’s feelings, thoughts, and behavior and use this knowledge to help them function better in their day-to-day lives.” (“Psychologists”, Career Cruising). With the unpredictable work encounters and satisfying pay this occupation provides, many people are choosing the rewarding and exciting work life of a psychologist. When considering this profession, the education and training is a very important topic to think about. The responsibilities, pay, and type of working environment must also be topics to take into consideration. Being a psychologist can lead to many opportunities for professional advancement as well. For this career, education is an essential factor. Psychologists typically have doctorate degrees in psychology but some may have their master's or bachelor’s degree. Having a doctorate offers more job opportunities than others with a master’s or bachelor’s degree (Richardson 850-851). Therefore, it would be a smart decision for a person pursuing this career to continue their education in order to have more options in the psychological field.
