Why Did You Ever Stopped Teaching At Centenary?
Dr. Gaddy

Question #1: Why did you choose to teach at Centenary?

Response: After asking this question Dr. Gaddy told me at first she was attending an internship for psychology to see if she was going to be interested in it. Which she came to the fact that it was something that interests her. When the end of August came she realized she really needed a job. She apply to Sussex County College but once she did she got an offer from Centenary and just went right to it, not knowing how much they pay or not much about it at all. Which I understand why she did that because I would have done the same if I really needed the job. In the end she choose to teach at Centenary just because she needed a job.

Question #2: What do you see as most important

Gaddy this question she said “what I see most important to undergraduate psychology education is a well rounded basic knowledge of psychology.” I agree on her answer after learning once you have that basic knowledge you can become anything you want. Human natural is an excellent source to have and know.

Question #3: If you ever stopped teaching what would you turn to?

Response: What I have learned from this question is that Dr. Gaddy actually has 3 careers and it’s something a lot of people don’t know about her. She works as a teacher, a psychologist for the state and she was in the Air Force. From all 3 jobs if she had a choice to go back to the Air Force she would in a heartbeat. But because she’s unable to, once she stops teaching Dr. Gaddy will start her own private practice and it will only be for part-time. I think it’s pretty awesome that she can have 3 job and still live her life growing up.

Dr. Gunawan

Question #1: How did you come to find psychology as a general career

Response: After asking Dr. Gunawan this question I learned that his PH.D allowed him to be more than a professor. He had an offers to work at places like microsoft. This sparks my dream to get my PH.D even more after learning that.

Question #3: Was it hard finding a job after college?

Response: I learned that after getting your PH.D you're not guarantee to get a job off the bat. For Dr. Gunawan it was hard finding a job and he was overqualified at times. He thinks people have a false assumption that once you get a PH.D you are out of the position of someone with a masters or bachelors. I honestly thought once you have a PH.D you can get any job you would like people of the title you hold.

Dr. Floether

Question #1: How did you come to find psychology as a general career area?

Response: Dr. Floether surprised me once she told me the real reason she came to find psychology as a general career area is when Something big happened in her life. Her husband passed when her children were young and she saw how upset they were. After that day she wonder how will it effect them in life. That’s when she realized psychology was the right path for her. It’s was she “Live and Breathe” she loves everything about

Woodall’s background and getting to know him a little bit, I began to direct my questions more towards the MD/DO debate. I first asked him if he had ever considered attending a school of osteopathic medicine rather than a traditional medical school. Evidently, the thought had never even crossed his mind, simply because DO schools hardly existed at the time (Woodall)! Perhaps that most important piece of information that he told me regarding osteopathic doctors with whom he has worked is that “patients and or other colleagues will not know the difference” (Woodall) between them and medical doctors! I found this to be an extraordinary claim, but he went on to say that he personally has worked with DOs whom he assumed to be MDs while working with them until ex post facto when he happened to learn more about them and their backgrounds. I think that this singular claim largely answers a good portion of my question about the issue. Indeed, I had to later skip over several of my later questions, because as I prodded him about this more later, he kept stating that he could find no tangible difference between the two…

Lessons I have learned from this interview with Ronald G. Spaeth, as a graduate student in healthcare administration by reading about Mr. Spaeth’s education, awards and career accomplishments. For instance, Spaeth received a Gold Medal Award for his outstanding contributions as a leader in healthcare. I have learned that receiving a great award can start a successful career. Though, receiving an award is a part of career success. Completing an earned degree in business administration, and/or another Master’s degree is another great start for a professional successful career. Mr. Speath’s career goals were met by his educational background and work experience. I have learned that career success takes effectively working with students, leaders…

I asked him if a college degree and four years experience as a hospital corpsman wouldn't over-qualify me for a job as a nurse's aide. In a patronizing tone of voice, he replied the only true motivation for becoming a doctor should be the sincere desire to help people, and as a hospital corpsman, I would be helping people in much the same way I would as a physician.…

However you cannot have such a “tender heart” that you do a disservice to your clients, therefore many programs require that their students seek out their own personal therapy before they graduate. Before we ended our conversation she left me with these words, “If you are going to graduate school you have got to prepare to sequester yourself for a few years. Graduate school is no joke! It takes a level of maturity, concentration and dedication if you are going to be good at and enjoy what you do. Good luck!” After my interview with Dr. Barnes I can see that step needed in order to become a Psychologist take a lot of hard work and schooling, but once that is all said and done it is a very rewarding job, where you get to help many different people, from all different backgrounds. Even though her mother was a nurse and not a Psychology major, her mother used these books during college. Professor McIntyre said that she found these book interesting and it prompted her to begin to take an interest in Psychology. I found this very interesting because it was my mother too that helped to get me interested in the field of Psychology. I then asked “what would you be doing if you were not in the field of Psychology?” Professor McIntyre paused and laughed for a minute. She said she loved Psychology so much that she really could not see herself doing anything else, but if she had to choose she would have been a nurse because she loves interacting with others. I also asked her what she loved about Psychology. She told me that she loved teaching and educating others about it, she loved that it was always evolving, you can learn new things about it all the time, and she loved that it was a field that could always be applied to real life. I then asked Professor McIntyre if she enjoyed being a Professor here at Russell Sage College, I told her I would make no judgements regardless of her answer. She told me that she loved teaching here because the class sizes were perfect and they allowed her to interact with everyone on an intimate level.…
