The final section of my Philadelphia University portfolio represents the specialized skills and knowledge that I have gained during my time here as a student. When I began my journey at Philadelphia University in Health Service management I was unaware of the major problems that impacted the healthcare field and my goals first were to apply for the states Administrator-In-Training program after graduation. Thereafter I wanted to complete the Administrator-In-Training program hours at my current job Elkins Crest Nursing Home. In the final analysis, I hoped to become an Administrator or an Assistant Administrator for Extendicare Health Services within the next two years. Working at Pennsylvania Hospital has altered my views slightly. I would like to stay within the Pennsylvania Hospital network and be an administrator.…
There is a singularity amongst all powerful leaders, and that is their capacity to influence their followers. However, not all powerful leaders are fabled by society. A leader who holds the capacity to simultaneously transform society and maintain a fabled reputation, is one who not only holds themselves, but also their followers to a higher standard of truth, ambition, and morality. The 40th president of the United States, Ronald Reagan adequately embodied the qualities of principality leader and was greatly favored by his followers. He started a revolution of reconstructing America and he influenced people to maintain an ambitious drive. The qualities he promoted as a leader, such as commitment to truth, integrity, morality, and dedication…

Leadership has been important throughout human history. But why is leadership makes it so important? There are many answers to that question. First of all, mankind has always needed leaders. Without leaders, this world would not be able to function properly. Second, leaders have an influence on people, may it be good or bad. The choices that a leader makes can leave an impact on people to do something that the said leader believes in. Third, leaders have a big impact on the outcome of the future of society. The leader could decide to choose a way to settle a matter, whether it is good or bad, and those choices could lead to either the destruction or growth of a nation.…

Jimmy Carter was a natural-born leader and hard worker. He served as 39th President of the United States, from 1977 to 1981. Carter is still alive today and has 4 children. When Jimmy was just ten he would load his family's produce onto a wagon and haul it into town to sell it. By the time Carter was 14 he had enough money to buy 5 houses, because of the Great Depression the housing market dropped. So he fixed them up and rented them out to families in need. While Jimmy Carter was president he worked to improve equality for gays, women, and minorities, along with working on environmental issues.…

Over the past few decades, medical professions have become increasingly more popular. The health system has evolved and health careers are at an all time high; creating several different paths and opportunities in the health field. It is no surprise many would want to choose a career with optimal advancement opportunities. Mark Sullivan, a famous author, once wrote, “To find a career to which you are adapted by nature, and then to work hard at it, is about as near to a formula for success and happiness as the world provides. One of the fortunate aspects of this formula is that, granted the right career has been found, the hard work takes care of itself. Then hard work is not hard work at all.” This quote exudes how even though the road in one’s career path may be tough, if one chooses a career one is passionate about, then the work load will be lightened by what one loves. When considering a career in health care, it is important to examine the different angles involved. For example, a career in physical therapy and naturopathic medicine can be compared and contrasted by income, education and responsibilities.…
