Pt1420 Unit 4 Assignment
1. What I found to be interesting in this week’s reading is something I never really thought about much and that’s the thought of waste. Mainly the thought of toileting issues was there a set area for going to the bathroom? Another thing that struck up a conversation with my boyfriend was the Inca tribe not having a form of conventional writing the whole knots and colors is very fascinating to me.
2. When I was reading the chapters my boyfriend was watching expedition un-know on the travel channel. On this episode Josh Gates is looking for a yeti so it caught my attention because of the previous chapter readings. I watched for a while then he was at the base camp on MT. Everest and the thought of where do these people go to the restroom do they fly the waste out? It did not look like the landscape was something a person could dig

After reading the chapters I would like to know more about the Inca tribe I wonder if perhaps they had a form of writing, and we just have not discovered it yet.

Having read this chapter, what would you like to know more about? What piqued your curiosity? If you had unlimited funds to do further research in this area of study, what would you investigate? If you had unlimited time and energy to read and discuss and learn about anthropology, what from this chapter would you take the time to learn more about? (“Nothing” or “I already know everything I want to know about this” are not acceptable answers. Pick something.)

What type of install is the cable going into? Is everything in a fixed position? If you have an install where items are moved around without being disconnected, using highly flexible cable is necessary. Cables in these scenarios need to be flexible to meet those demands of mobility, and also for the life of the wire so that it does not crack, break, fray or short. We had a job at a university where we moved flat panels on a track system to create different screen sizes, and for that we had to make sure the cable would meet the demand.…

The free group with two generators a and b is composed of all finite strings that are formed from the four symbols a, a−1, b and b−1 given that no a is directly next to an a−1 and no b is directly next to a b−1. Two such strings can be concatenated and converted into a string of this type by repeatedly replacing the "forbidden" substrings with the empty string. For example: abab−1a−1 concatenated with abab−1a yields abab−1a−1abab−1a, which contains the substring a−1a underlined in the example, and so the “forbidden” string gets cancelled and reduced to abab−1bab−1a, which again contains the substring b−1b underlined in the example, which then gets reduced to abaab−1a. It can be checked that the group formed from the set of those strings with…

When the activity was first assigned each member of the group was assigned a different part of the assignment. For, my part in the assignment I was assigned to complete the evaluation tool. The other three members were assigned one of the other three parts left in the activity. When, it came to deciding the activity we each came up with an idea, but then we eventually decided that we would do softball. After that, during the process there were group meetings held to figure the best way for the activity to be run, and how each member was doing with their part of the assignment. I was a little confused with the fact that I wasn’t assigned more work to do. In my opinion, I felt that I could’ve done more than just the evaluation tool I wanted to contribute more to the group. Beyond that, it confused me that during the activity, it took us a while to decide to let each batter have a runner with and…

    1. I find Nisa’s account for understanding the life of earlier Paleolithic people very useful because it gives a firsthand account of how people lived. Nisa explains how marriages worked, how loss was dealt with, if lovers were used, and healing rituals. Some evidence of contact with a wider world that I found in her story was the appearance of jewelry (copper rings) in the women’s hair and the moment right before Tashay died when they visited the Tswana village (cattle-keeping people).…

In The first chapter of Occupied America by Rodolfo Acuna, Acuna introduces several types of cultures and civilizations. Rodolfo explains how the cultures had different methods of agriculture, believes and ways of surviving. Many of the cultures or civilizations were extremely advance in technology , we can say talking for their time period. It's amazing how they were advance in astronomy and their calendars were amazing. He also talks a lot bout many different civilizations that were around and how they would fight each others and conquer their territories. Its very interesting to get to know each and every single of those civilization. Each of them had their strives and downfalls and its amazing knowing how for instance how the Olmecs were master crafts men's they carved huge heads onto giants rocks with no high tech tools,or machines. Or the Mayans how advance this civilization was in astronomy for their time period. It's very interesting to know what their sacrifices meant to them, And why they did those sacrifices. They did many awful things but for them was a way to keep the gods happy and thus keeping the civilization alive. I'm very interested in this book and looking forward to more of this class and learning new and interesting facts. The main themes in chapter one of Occupied America by Rudolfo Acuna are Agriculture and civilization on how they lived and survived. The main them that appealed to me were the Olmec . They were known as the mother culture of mexico . They had so much production of maize in 2000BC that was enough to support a whole village then they also began pottery and it amazed me how the Olmec build thousands of large temples. The Olmec were the first tropical lowland civilizations. The olmec created the calender . They later on passed its organization forms, religion and art to the Maya, Teotihuancan, and aztecs.…
