Public School System
Dear Public School System, Some people feel that your arrangement does not adequately prepare students for the real world. A student enters the real world when he/she graduates high school. Therefore, there must be some improvement in order to better prepare students for life after high school. Pursuing this further, one would probably produce an anonymous student survey to be filled out every nine weeks or so; the survey will ask students what they think about their teachers teaching techniques and/or what they think they can be done to better prepare them for the future. A section for surplus comments will also be included. This idea would be an excellent one because, kids need to be heard. In addition, school boards and administration need to become more aware of what is going on inside of their classrooms. Primarily, students need to voice their opinions. What better way than this survey? It is imperative that teenagers feel free to express their feelings on subjects in a peaceful manner. By grasping this concept, it would better prepare them for jobs were they will have to interact with other people and give their input towards different situations in the workplace. This way they continue to develop a sense of self-esteem, self-worth and independent thinking. They also need to feel they have some control and say in what happens around them. Ultimately, students will feel they can be understood as people-not children; and taking on more responsibilities will become first nature. Subsequently, the authorities need commitment to find out what is truly happening behind the scenes. The administration and the school boards cannot always be there in the classroom with the teacher and that’s where a dilemma arises. Every semester this survey will help school leaders help their students. After all, starting this way would seem like the logical thing to do. If the adults in the students’ lives during these five days a week do not have the right tools for properly educating them, students fail to exceed their minds limits.
Fundamentally, an improvement schools need to make in order to better prepare students for life after high school is to introduce an overview of the undergraduates outlook on their school experience. Only when the administrators can entirely comprehend what it is that is holding back the student body from creating a solid foundation for the future, can they put these ideations into action. In order to advance themselves, students of all grade levels cannot be afraid to speak up and be heard. When these undergraduates finally become alumni it will become that much easier to mature into the future leaders we’ve always wanted to help form by showing their inner confidence. A student survey may not sound like a lot but it can one day make the world a better place, with better citizens.

Sincerely,
A concerned parent.

We live in a society that uses grades as a reflection of learning. Grades are supposed to show how well you know a subject, but is that what they really show? In our society it has become more about getting the grade than actually learning the subject. What impact do grades even have on learning? Jerry Farber, a professor at the University of California wrote an article, titled “A Young Person’s Guide,” that discussed grades and the impact, or lack thereof, they have on learning. Farber is correct in saying that our school grading systems are terrible because grades are not an accurate representation of someone's knowledge.…

Classroom management is the key to a successful school year for both the teacher and the students. I have read about various methods, techniques, and disciplines useful in establishing a solid foundation for student cooperation and participation. I wholeheartedly understand that I cannot control another person’s thoughts, feelings, and/or actions. However, I do believe I am capable of establishing a healthy rapport with administration, co-workers, parents, and students that will allow me to obtain my desired goals for student achievement. I believe successful classroom management is developed based on the proper mixture of being prepared, respectful, hopeful, encouraging, structured and disciplined. These are a few of the characteristics of successful educators. My goal is to learn how to acquire, maintain and provide these elements consistently without bias. In order to do this I will need to understand and be able to utilize the legal and ethical rights of an educator. As well as understanding and coping with the legal and ethical rights of students and parents.…

“Against school” is argumentative that tell us about how the public education system in capacitates, Gatto claims that the public education system causes children to become bored with themselves, to conform to the way of the school and it’s teachers, and it causes them to lack the ability to deal with issues that go on the real world, outside of school. Gatto’s explanation for this is that it is partially the teachers fault. The students become bored because the teacher is actually bored with teaching the subject. Students would be adamant to learn if they were given and education and not schooling. They need to be encouraged to have the qualities to succeed in life instead of sitting in a prison style that he believes that the student should be able to manage themselves.…

The school system in America has long been an issue of discussion and debate amongst people everywhere. The discussions and debates often stem from evaluating the current educational system in order to determine if significant social issues, including increasing regional poverty and declining literacy rates in specific urban regions are related to economic differentiations in the educational system. Many policy analysts have considered the issue of educational funding allotments in order to determine a system that provides greater equity between socio-economically disadvantaged inner-city schools and wealthier suburban, middle class schools (Kozol 83). The foundation for the necessary funding changes have stemmed from the recognition that school funding differences relate directly to sociological issues, including the creation of a cycle of poverty and illiteracy in under funded urban settings.…
