Racism Speech
“Equality is not a concept. It's not something we should be striving for. It's a necessity. Equality is like gravity. We need it to stand on this earth as men and women, and the misogyny that is in every culture is not a true part of the human condition. It is life out of balance, and that imbalance is sucking something out of the soul of every man and woman who's confronted with it. We need equality” A quote by Joss Wheden.

Good morning/afternoon my name is_______, and today I will be talking to you about equality and the different perceptions we all have of people in this world today. Everyone is equal, but not all of us are treated equally. You are probably told that everyone in society is equal; people aren't equal in this civilisation because of things like racism, sexism, and homophobia.

People of all ages, race and abilities should be treated the same. There is no reason to put others down because they are different. No one is the same and it isn't fair to point out their noticeable weaknesses just because yours aren't visible.

Why is it that in this day and age is it still ok to be racist? We the younger generation have the chance to stop racism and to accept everyone as equals. People like Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King junior, Gandhi and Nelson Mandela all fought for the same thing, equality. We the younger generation should come together and strive for equality, yet we have done nothing to overcome this problem. The social and racial differences are the fault lines in our communities. We all want to be able to feel that we are accepted for who we are, wherever we are.

People move to different places all over the world, for better opportunities and a better life. Imagine yourself just moving into a foreign country in the hope of a better future and acceptance, but instead you are abused both verbally and physically because of minor differences such as your nationality, your facial features or your accent.

No one should be a victim of discrimination whatsoever, especially based on their skin color. A person has no control over how they look and it does not define who they are. People define themselves through what they do and how they act. Each person has potential and everyone should be given a chance to do something or be someone great. If a person is to be judged, it should be based on their behaviorism and mannerism.…

We need to make the older generation, who lived during a time that it was still a common belief in society that blacks were inferior, that society continues to change, and thinking that there are inferior races is no longer accepted in society, because is wrong. While not as extreme, african americans today are still receiving similar treatments of segregation. In Ferguson, MO, a young, unarmed, african american boy was shot and killed by a white police officer. The officer had no probable cause for shooting him, and he wasn’t convicted for it. This incident upset thousands, proving to America that blacks still aren’t equal. The shooting represents the social injustice that african americans face every day, the struggle that they have to go through because as a society, we can’t accept the fact that the modern day world is extremely different than it was during Martin Luther King Jr’s time. The only way to correct not only this injustice, but every wrongdoing that has been inflicted upon african americans in America’s history, is to stress racial equality…

I want to know why are there racists in this world. I especially want to know why is it 2016 and we still have race issues going on in this country. Over the past year we have seen many shooting of African Americans. It is statistically proven that African American men are more vulnerable to get treated poorly for the same crime that a white man would do. I’m not saying that the shooting was all because of race. It’s just the fact of black people are racially profiled for no reason. I don’t think it is fair that I have to be at a disadvantage and would be profiled by certain people because of my skin color instead of my…

Today we will be discussing racial profiling and the affects that is has in the media and the community. What is racial profiling? Racial profiling is the act of suspecting or targeting a person of a certain race based on a stereotype about their race. According to Minnesota House of Representatives analyst Jim Cleary, "there appear to be at least two clearly distinguishable definitions of the term 'racial profiling': a narrow definition and a broad definition... Under the narrow definition, racial profiling occurs when a police officer stops, questions, arrests, and/or searches someone solely on the basis of the person's race or ethnicity... Under the broader definition, racial profiling occurs whenever police routinely use race as a factor…
