Raising Children Persuasive Speech
In today’s society we are plagued by massacres and mass shootings not only in our country, but around the world. People of all ages are losing their lives due to the senseless, careless, and vile actions of a person or group of people looking for the intent to take life. December 14th, 2012 Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut. Twenty-seven children lost their lives to a rogue 20 year old shooter by the name of Adam Lanza. June 18th, 2015 Charleston, S.C. in a historically black church a teenager by the name of Dylann Roof took the lives of nine church members. July 20th, 2012 in Aurora, Colorado 12 movie goers were killed and 58 others were injured due to the random act of violence committed by a 24 year old named James Holmes.

Children of all ages need role models and support. Adolescent childbirth is a contributing factor to the behavioral problems of children. Children are raising children. If a young mother and father doesn’t have the ability to raise themselves then how are able to raise a child on their own? Raising a child is said to be one of the most taxing responsibilities to take on. Expressions such as “It takes a village to raise a child” is one of the most literal expressions that exist. To raise and care for another living and breathing human beings is one of the most arduous things to deal with. The average child is said to cost nearly a quarter of a million dollars to raise as reported by CNN Money. Financial struggles affect the behavior of children also. Insufficient funds and low income may potentially prevent a child from being able to participate in activities that could enable the child to be proactive and in many of the positive outlets that are available. Activities such as sports are capable of instilling qualities in a child such as sportsmanship, respect, teamwork, honesty, and resiliency. Children in today’s society need more positive outlets to occupy their time. Social media has infamously become the image of cyber bullying and cause of early teenage anxiety disorders, depression, and cause of suicide amongst teenagers and children.
