means improved or produced.
The Red and the White
The Peruvian flag is a vertical triband with red outer bands and a single white middle triband. Peru has a red and white flag. Red represents the blood that was spilled for the fight for independence, and white represents peace, justice, and bravery. The colors are said to symbolize the Incas and their lasting impact on the country. These 2 colors were chosen by Jose de San Martin, The Liberator.
The Golden Cornucopia
The golden cornucopia is located on the bottom of the escudo/shield.
It represents prosperity. Prosperity means good fortune or a success/successful. The cornucopia is golden because the flag was formed during the golden period of Inca. The cornucopia is spilling out coins, this stands for mineral health.
During this project I learned about the different meanings and parts of the Peruvian flag. The 3 features important to Peru are the Cinchona tree, the Red and the White, and the Golden Cornucopia. The Cinchona is important because it represents the vast Peruvian animal resources. The red and the white are important because they represent the blood that was spilled for the fight for independence, and peace, justice, and bravery. The golden cornucopia is important because it was formed during the golden Inca period. My favorite feature of the Peruvian flag was the Red and the White. I liked those they represent lot because they showed how the Peruvians won independence and their values. I loved learning about Peru and its
flag!
