Redemptive Acts In The Old Testament

1. God’s redemptive acts in the Old Testament started with the redemption of Adam and Eve after they had disobeyed God and fell into a fallen state. God barred them from the Garden of Eden, preventing them from eating from the tree of life and living forever in a fallen state. The story of Noah was also a redemptive act from the Old Testament, God told Noah of the coming disaster and told him to spread the word of judgment. Even though Noah built the arc and told others of what was coming, the only other people he convinced to get on the arc were his family. Redemption was offered to all those who listened to the word of God through Noah, but almost all of humanity ignored him and were punished for not repenting their sinful ways. There was also the story of Abraham, who was asked by God to sacrifice his son Isaac as an offering to God. Abraham listened to God, Having the faith to believe that God would never instruct him to do something that wasn’t for the best. God saw the strength of Abraham’s faith and redeemed him by presenting him with a sacrificial ram to kill instead of his son Isaac. Two
Once the son spent all his money and had no other options, he decided to go back home to his family. His father redeemed him and accepted him back into his home without hesitation.
