I conducted my research and found out that if I were to fail this inspection, then my Commanding Officer (CO) would be relieved from my unit which would bring an adverse reputation to the unit credibility. I was a bit, perplexed but also enthusiastic this inspection would give me the opportunity to put myself in the spotlight and bring success to the unit, or it can be my unit downfall, and my CO would receive a letter of dismissal. I was committed that neither my CO being relieved, nor the unit reputation will deteriorate come into existence. With the weight of the CGI on my shoulder, I knew that changes would need to occur. To start off, I was a novice on the Marine Corps Marksmanship Program. However, as time progressed I discover the importance on why the Marine Corps develop this type of curriculum. From what I gathered it’s to ensure the safety of Marines that are shooting on the range so that HQMC can make an assessment of the Marine Corps mission readiness. The only days that I enjoy the most are my weekends, but this will soon change as the clock started to wind down, meaning goodbye video games and hello reading. I began to read a plethora of pages on my off time and conduct multiple pre-assessments test related to my program. It felt as if I was in American government again trying to write a research paper.
