Reflection On My Writing
As I review my work that I have completed thus far in this course, I find that I continue to make progress in each assignment that I write. In the first reflection, I expressed that I wanted to learn how to improve my grammatical errors, sentence fragments, and getting straight to the point. And this is something that I am consistently working on. For example, the assignment that I worked on that embodies what I need to improve on is shown the bad news memo that I drafted for class. I re-wrote the memo several times due to the fact that I found it to be very wordy. In the final draft, I thought that my memo had eliminated what I thought needed improvement. However, when my work was reviewed in front of my classmates it turned out to not be exactly that. I was told that my language was “”too flowery” which is something that I am usually guilty upon doing. Like I said in my first reflection, I knew I would have a hard …show more content…
And going forward I want to improve. As we have entered midterm I have noticed that the assignments get more complex. And on top of that, we have to work on a project in between assignments as well. Currently, we are still working on our resumes. I am confident that my work on this has been done well. However, I do find that I might struggle on a cover letter simply because I have a hard time talking about myself and in a way “selling myself” in order to get the job and or internship I desire. I will take this assignment very seriously though because I am in the process of applying for several internship positions. And many of these positions require a cover letter as well as a resume. Having a clean resume and well-drafted cover letter from this class will come to be an advantage since I can use these two pieces in the application process. Lastly, I want to learn how to develop my project thoroughly and correctly so that the project can be easier on my group members and

Throughout the course of American history, the late 1700s and early 1800s were the main eras when the abolition of slavery was most rooted for. After the Haitian Revolution, in which the former state of Saint Domingue freed itself from the rule of the French colony, abolitionists around the world began to rise up and form organizations and societies to grant freedom to slaves. Although it was an informal and gradual process, anti-slavery movements were successful through votes in Congress, consistent petitions, passed laws, and published literature. Most interestingly, both whites and blacks were involved in the abolitionist movements, and believed that the use of slaves was destroying the unity of the nation. One of the earliest and most notable…

I have more weaknesses than strengths as a writer. I am not the best writer, I have always had struggle in English class. My personal strengths as a write are being able to understand the concept and being able to find evidence to support my claim/thesis. My personal weaknesses as a writer are editing and grammar. Occasionally, I use the wrong past tense and need improvement on sentence and paragraph structure. I tend to repeat myself a lot. Also, my weakness is time essays, I tend to be a slow writer and I do not work great under pressure.…

This year I finalized my writing process and how I choose to go about writing my works. I focused on a number of Composition and Writing Process pieces in my portfolio. In the past, I was used to writing rough drafts for all my final papers and only occasionally would I write an outline for them as well. As shown mainly through the Cultural Identity process, the slower and more thorough of a process I take with my writing, the better it will be. Similarly, the rough draft I wrote for my persuasive essay showed multiple errors and places that need to be fixed and patched up in order to improve the strength of my message. For a good majority of the papers I wrote this year, I wrote an outline and a rough draft that was revised at least once. I believe that I have become accustom to a writing…

In school, we have been required to write many papers on many different subjects, some being timed and others not. Writing has never been something that has come easy to me, especially when put on the spot and told to write a paper in a certain amount of hours. When I write, I like to have time to think and plan my essay. Being able to revise and edit the paper makes it even better than it was before. When I am given the time to plan my essay, the writing has more depth than when I am put on the spot and have no time to think about what will go into my paper.…

Over the past 3 months, my writing has improved dramatically. After writing countless essays and journals along with other assignments, I can say that my writing has almost become twice as good since high school. For this I am grateful. The writing skills that I have learned will be very useful in life beyond college. I have learned that writing is an art form; And similar to pieces of art, writing improves over time and it an always be improved. Among the many aspects of writing that I have improved upon, the most important things include: How to develop an introduction paragraph, teacher feedback, and developing transitions from one topic to another.…

At the beginning of the semester my writing lacked flow, sentence variety, and wasn't something I was very proud of. I hated writing essays and I never spent much time revising them; my first draft was my final draft. I began the semester with a goal in mind, my goal was to take everything I learned in the class to heart, and to incorporate it into my writing to the best of my ability. As time progressed, I have improved my ability to create flow in my writing, my sentences vary in length, and I have created a few pieces of writing I am very proud of. I am very thankful to have learned such a vast amount of information about writing and what steps to take in order to create my best piece of…

In the long run, innovation of products and processes is perhaps the most important building block of competitive advantage. Competition can be viewed as a process driven by innovations. Although not all innovations succeed, those that do can be a major source of competitive advantage because they give a company something unique—something its competitors lack. Uniqueness can allow a company to differentiate itself from its rivals and charge a premium price for its product or, in the case of many process innovations, reduce its unit costs far below those of competitors.…
