Reflection On The Diversity On Screen Show

The Diversity on Screen show that I attended on March 8, held a lot of informative things I learned in regards to studio production management. For instance, the production manager made sure that his crew knew how many minutes the show had until it was being recorded. Furthermore, he kept watch for anyone that could possibly interrupt the show and stood at the side watching the show. The team delayed the show by at least 10 to 15 minutes after they were instructed for the show to start at 7:30 p.m. The set was a very small room with limited amount of seating being 10 rows or less for the audience. Moreover, a camera member of the crew did not know any proper camera technique when try to establish his shots. There was rare communication between team members before beginning the show.
In addition, at the end of the show there was no feedback shown towards the crew on how they could improve before the next show. At the control room there was some chatter that could be heard into the studio but no one was communicating from my view of the team on set. The team cohesiveness was poorly displayed throughout the show since each person only cared about their own roles and very relaxed on the job. However, the show was still a success since it was put together very well and intrigued the audience to what was going on. The topic choice for the production as a whole was an excellent choice and helped shine a light on something that is rarely talked about in the industry of on screen film and television.
