Reflective Essay: Pluto And The Haunted House
"Charlie," My mom yelled,"go walk your dog."

I called for Pluto as I fetched the leash from the parlor. He came running and leaped on top of me, "Down boy, I know you love our walks together and I do too, but you need to calm down." I put the leash on him and we ventured out...

Pluto and I passed by my school, the park, my friend Dallas' house, the grocery store, and my older brother's school. We walked and walked until we reached the edge of the town. An old car of vivid colors passed by us, it seemed to be empty, I stared at it and Pluto started to bark, his eyes started to glow a bright, reprobating red. Once the car was completely out of sight, his eyes returned back to normal. Leaves started to fall and the trees began to tremble vigorously.

I pulled on Pluto's collar to walk back home, but everything seemed to stop; the leaves, stopped where they were and the trees stopped shaking. Everything went still, everything started to change; the leaves went brown, the trees went green, and the road seemed to turn to sand. Pluto ran off, I called for him to come back, but he kept running, I saw his eyes turn red. I ran after him, "Pluto, come here, Pluto!! Pluto where'd you go?" He ran further and further from me.

What a thwarting predicament. It seemed to be a dog, but was bigger than Pluto, it seemed almost human. It came closer and closer. When I could see him clearly, I saw that it was human, but with some dog like features; dog like tail and ears. It came and sat beside me. He looked at me like he needed someone to help and love him. I went to reach out my hand out, but stopped right before I touched his head. He nudged his head up towards my head and I started to pet him. What soft hair, almost like

The picture that I confronted was amazing to the point that I couldn't represent a moment. There were five major quiet greenish blue pounds that passed water to each other which then ran out as a waterfall. The sweet, almost wiped out, smell of blossoms slice through the delicate aroma of the evening's dewy grass developed all around the pounds. So high on the mountain I have a feeling that I can touch the sky with the tips of my fingers. I heard the winged creatures singing their wonderful last tune before they will go to rest. I solidify, thinking what an awesome day today is, when out of the blue I feel my stomach turn, I totally overlooked I didn't eat anything today. Tyler, Alex, and I sat down to eat some nourishment before we will head back. After every one of these hours not eating the sustenance felt particularly great. The pureed potatoes were smooth and velvety and the vegetables with their fluctuated hues gave the dish a pleasant appearance. The meat had a rich flavor with only a clue of spiciness. In the wake of eating we put lofts and laid there for around twenty minutes before we pressed up and left such a wonderful spot. I looked over the maritime blue pounds now, the blooms that were presently laying scattered on the grass like solidified blazes, the sky that had obscured to a weak violet shading, and the brilliant melon light of a late summer evening, pivoted and left. A winsome wind…

The outside smelled liked autumn. The wind was gentle. As my friend and I walked, the leaf crunched below our feet. When we reached the park it transformed. One playground became the ice castle. That had snow guard guarding all around the castle. The ponds sparkle from the sun that was surrounding the castle. As for the other playground lit up with fire, from stone to stone. I raced the fire queen to my castle.…

“My name is Ellie”. “Is it really? My dogs name is Ellie!” I didn’t know what to say to that so I just smiled. “Well I should get going” I said just as I was about to turn around. “Would you like to meet my dog?” Patty called after me. “I really must get going” I started to say when Patty interrupted me, “she’s right inside, I’ll go get her.” I waited outside for about 10 minutes before Patty came out with her dog. At first I thought it was a shaved rat, and that Patty had Alzheimer’s or something, but when she got closer I could see what it real was.…

I was so tired, even attempting to keep my eyes open was a struggle. My whole body was achy after a hard day’s of school work, constantly staring at a computer screen and typing away, just to finish an essay. My pale white hands, frozen by the air conditioning blasting on high, were holding on to the steering wheel like a person gripping the edge of a cliff, hoping not to fall into a dark abyss. My brain wanted to give in, to remain in the sleep that I kept dangerously drifting in and out of. I took a look outside, the road looking meek. The rows if brush hoars any objects spattered off the road by vehicles in the August sun. It felt like I was going around in a circle, my tires skating around the bends and turns of the road. I felt maybe I should slow down so I do not lose…

I looked all around this place searching for any sign of life I could find. I walked for what it seemed like ten miles when I came across what seemed to be a creature. It looked like a blue fluffy dog, with long rabbit ears, a cat tail and antennas, almost like something you would see in a sci-fi movie. I approached it slowly and it came closer to me and jumped on me and licked me all over my face. At first I was stricken with shock but then I realized it was my dog, Biscuit. I exploded with…

The honk of a car jerked me back to reality. The car rolled and rumbled into the parking lot. I threw off my seat belt, leaped out of the car and dashed up to the door. A lady behind the front desk motioned her hand towards a row of seats. I sat down, tapped my foot and listened to the distant woof and occasional bark of the dogs. I shot up when I saw the door start to open. A lady with short brown hair stepped out with a dog. My smile started to fade. He was short and fat like a pig, and his black and…

One day morning, I was talking with my friend, Alice, through the window across the street, and I saw a big beautiful colored animal walking on the street near my house. I tough it was a dog passing by, but my friend Alice said “I don’t think so; he is very big to be a dog.” My friend and I therefore closed our windows by fearing of that stranger animal. I had no idea about what that animal could be, but once I saw his light golden eyes, I got scared, froze and urinated on my pants for I had never seen that kind of animal. Few minutes after he passed by my house, I heard people screaming “lion”, other voices said “tiger”, and parents or older people were asking their children to go back inside the house. But at the middle of the day, the information on the radio warned people, especially parents to keep children safe inside the house for there was a tiger in the neighborhood.…

Saturday, April 3, 1990, became a day that I could never forget. After a long night’s sleep, I started the day with a smile on my face. On that day, I planned to be going on a simple bike ride with a friend. First, after I awoke, I was to call my friend and plan the ride. My friend and I had planned the bike ride to a place in town that we had never seen. Quicker than ever he arrived at my house. Upon arrival, we took two Gatorades and headed off on our way. While riding we saw a bike ramp that we had never before seen. The ramp screamed out with color, and that feature made it unusual. The ramp had pictures of animals drawn on it. We then both challenged eachother to go off the ramp. Agreeing to go off the ramp at the same time, we headed for the ramp at full speed. As we gained speed, we noticed a large swirling mass of light on the ramp. Trying to stop, we were thrown from our bikes into the mass of light. Next, we awoke from our fall to notice that we warped into a weird dimension that was dominated by animals and humans were the animals’ slaves and pets. We realized that if we did not turn around and leave, we would be trapped. As we turned my friend noticed the porthole of light closing. Finally, we returned through the porthole just in time before it had closed. Just as we entered the real world I heard a loud buzzing sound. Lastly, I realized it was all just a dream, but it all felt too real to…
