My own worldview is heavily influenced by the teachings of the Bible. Whenever I come across new information, I must first reflect upon if it is logical and consistent. Every view must come under heavy scrutiny for errors in logic and sorted out. If an argument is logical, then I compare it with the Scriptures. With every perspective come consequences that can be devastating in effect. As an example, the idea of Eugenics and the devaluing of human life lead to the atrocities that have left calamitous scars in history. Not to say that such things will always occur, but the worldviews that became generally accepted paved the way towards destruction. If we accept ideas that are inconsistent or allow us to do things that should be considered morally wrong, there can be unintentional consequences. That is why it is severely important to be aware of one’s own viewpoint. In addition, it is extremely beneficial to be conscious of other peoples’ worldviews, since this will help us understand their thoughts and actions and allow us to respond accordingly. (Word Count:
