The first class of writing course was very interesting. Though, I’ve already experienced Kim’s previous course, I was still confused at every corner of the class because I lost her directions sometimes and couldn’t answer properly. No one can deny that her course demanding lots of things to students. :) However, after the semester, I expect that all students in this class will be able to realize that hardworking gives always results. There are several new things that I’ve learned this week. At the first class, there was nothing particularly picky. G and S are familiar concepts to me because I’ve already learned it before. However, definition and generalization part was slightly confusing. Especially, when it comes to the generalization, I still have difficulty to understand the exact meaning and way to produce. It seems that I need to practice a lot to identify the generalization sentences. The first class was fun and exciting overall because I got very good team mates. At the second class, I leaned about useful signals for contrast and comparative writing. It was a very interesting that contrast signals can be divided into two groups; direct opposition and unexpected results. I’ve never imagined that signals can be separated in such a small groups with a difference of diminutive nuance. I could easily detect the nuance of Korean, but English is not easy to find it. Proper word using can improve the quality of writing, but no one tell me specific ways to use those things before. So, I’m very satisfied with the class. I found minor problems during the first week of my new semester. First thing is my seating position in writing class. It was too far from professor that sometimes I miss her direction and lose my concentration. I hope I can be at the front line someday. Second thing is my missing required subject. I gave up taking the course to earn money. Now, I’m planning to take it during summer or winter session but
