This would be important as I would want the wages that I deserve for the effect and time that I put in to for working for the business. Also, I would like to earn bonuses and rewards for the extra work that I put in. Also, I want the managers to recognise the hard work I put in and applaud me for it. We studied the Equity theory (Adams, 1965) and this stated if employees are getting the outcome that they deserve from the work that they put in. The second most important job aspect to me is the availibility for career advancement. I am the type of person that always wants to better herself and to climb right up that corporate ladder. I don't ever want to settle with a position when I know that there is one higher and within my reach and ability if I were to try hard enough, and to complete the tasks necessary to gain that position. So if a company does not have the opportunity for advancement, then it is not the right place for me, and I probably wouldn't even consider working there.…

We started the session with an icebreaker which was very specific. I found this very challenging as I wanted to say more than the one point that was allowed. The ‘Get/Give’ activity was very thought provoking as it allowed me to really think about what it was I actually wanted from the course and what I felt I could contribute to the course. Sue explained very clearly that the assessment tasks should be related to my subject, learners and environment. This I found a very useful piece of information and will try to remember this while writing assessments. We then looked at reflective practice and between us came up with a definition. It is about describing what we have done and then acting upon it. We then looked at each section of a reflective journal and thought about what we would write in each section. I chose ‘What surprised me was...’ To this I answered that I was surprised by the fact that a lot of the skills I already have can be transferred into teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector.…

With any luck, when I do begin looking for a job in my new career field I will find one that meets these criteria.…

As a reader, I have noticed that reading enhanced my analytical thinking and increased my vocabulary. About myself, I learned that I can value the purpose of a text and start thinking about further questions and imaginations. I’m good in fast reading and catching main ideas while scanning texts, and not bad at all in knowing the right phrases that could be quoted from the given author (which I thought could be difficult at that start of the course). Regarding the reading assignments, I did all of them. Although I knew I will feel a little shy and will not read my notes during class, I wrote and brought them every time an active reading was assigned. To be honest, I did not usually volunteer and read texts that were…
