Repair The World Analysis
“Repair the World”

In NYC, The Museum of Jewish Heritage sells bracelets that are inscribed with a quote which says, “Repair the world.” Repair the world has many different meanings to many different people. Depending on how a person will analyze and interpret the quote is what makes them unique. Everyone has their own brain and own creative mind. Therefore everyone should use each other's uniqueness to build one another up. Even the smallest acts of kindness a day can brighten someone else's future. Repairing the world means to help others in a positive way or do something to benefit the needs of another person in a positive way. In order to repair the world, one must be selfless. “ A candle loses nothing by lighting another candle.” (James

“ Kindness comes in many forms, but always from the heart.” (Anonymous). During the holocaust acts of kindness truly showed. A Jew by the name of Wladyslaw Szpilman was a very talented musician. His family and him were moved to a ghetto during World War II. They were going to be on the next train to Treblinka in 1942, when he managed to escape. A friend of his and his wife took him into hiding in the city. Szpilman was later found by a German officer by the name of Captain Wilm Hosenfeld. He knew the officer was going to take him, but the Captain did the opposite. He helped Szpilman don't get captured by other officers. Hosenfeld would give Szpilman food and a place to hideout. Captain Wilm Hosenfeld was later captured by Russians and died as a Prisoner of War. Captain Hosenfeld and Szpilman is one of the great stories of kind hearted people during the holocaust. An organization called “Kind Hearted Compassion in Action Foundation” helps talented artist, musicians etc, show off their talents to each other. I’ve always heard that it only takes one person to make a difference in this world, and that one person is going to be me. I matter in this world because, I’m a loving wife, and wonderful mother to my two children. Although I’m not a wealthy person, I can describe myself as an ambitious, generous, vivacious and very eager to learn woman. I have a few goals in life, and one was to teach my children that just because they don’t have money, it doesn’t mean they don’t have wealth. Being born in the country or the city doesn’t make people what or who they are, but how they are raised with morals and values makes the person who they become. Everyone in the world matters, not because of what they do, but by simply who they are.…

The Kiwanis International Club held a survey where they asked when is it important to help out others? 75% of people believe in helping others when it will have an important impact on not only their lives but on other people's lives. When asked what type of community service makes the biggest difference, ⅔ answered hands on activities such as donating supplies, volunteering with a local service club, or participating in local community events have a bigger influence than just giving out money (Most Americans Believe One Can Can Change the World). Today, because of the sacrifices and achievements of many strong leaders, others now have their independence from countries, they have the right to vote, improved working conditions, or just an opportunity to be a better person. According to the survey on volunteerism done by the Kiwanis International Club, 86% of Americans believe one person can make a change (“Most Americans Believe One Can Change the World”). If this many people believe that humans are capable of making a change in the world, then the only thing stopping us from improving the world is us. As a quote by an anonymous person states “If you’re searching for that one person who will change your life...take a look in the mirror”; humans are the future of the world, and to live prosperous lives, we should be willing to help improve not only our living conditions, but to not be selfish and lend a helping hand to others in need as well. What the world is molded into is because of us, and as John F. Kennedy once said, “Making a positive difference in our own life or the lives of others, organizations, and the world at large starts with a healthy mind, body, and spirit, and a change of daily thoughts, communications, and actions of our own self…

Throughout the Holocaust good people did nothing about the cruelty that was happening and chose to be bystanders letting people die, and in “Terrible Things” and “Child of the Holocaust” this is shown and interpreted into Eve Bunting’s and Fred Gross’s own ideas and words. The project displayed the life of Jewish people who escaped the holocaust compared to those who were sent to Concentration Camps. This project is meant to honor all Jewish people who were oppressed during WWII and to show the choices and sacrifices they had to make. On the left, the collage shows people who went into hiding or fled during WWII. On the right, the collage shows people being taken to concentration camps, people in concentration camps, and the Nazi Gestapo during WWII. The message this art sends is the severity of the situation these people were in. That if these people don't run or hide, they and those of whom they love will perish in the hands of the Germans’. This project is meant to put a face…

    The Horror Of The Holocaust

Despite the overwhelming persecution and death that surrounded them, hundreds of thousands of Jews survived the Holocaust. Some survived thanks to the heroics of others non-Jews who took great risks to help their neighbors, friends, and even strangers in need. Some survived out of their own will to live, even when there was little to live for. And some, though broken in body and spirit, were liberated by the Allied Forces at the end of World War II. These stories of survival provide the only glimpse of “goodness” that comes from the terrible story of the Holocaust. It proves that, even in history’s darkest hour, there was a glimmer of hope; that in a world that seemed to be falling apart, good still had the capacity to overcome…

People often act selfless because they are more concerned with the needs and wishes of other than themselves, and as a result, they create a wave of change throughout the world. Therefore, it is important that people are selfless to be a better person. Selflessness is more than just helping others, it's about becoming a better person while helping them. It changes you and makes you a better version of yourself. In “Selfless,” a poem written by Kathleen De Rose, the author describes selflessness a goal to work towards.…
