Human trafficking, is a serious crime, and a violation of human rights. When you are captured by a human trafficker, you are then used to become a sex slave or prostitute in other words. Human trafficking is happening throughout the entire world. Human trafficking should be stopped. It’s dangerous, and no one should be taken away from their family and mistreated. There’s no telling where you could be taken to. Once, you are abducted you are never to be seen by your loved ones or return to your normal life. I will discuss the causes and effects of human trafficking.

Trafficking has a harrowing effect on the mental, emotional and physical well being of the women and girls ensnared in its web. Beyond the physical abuse, trafficked women suffer emotional stress, including shame, grief, fear, distrust and suicidal thoughts. Victims often experience post-traumatic stress disorder, and with that acute anxiety, depression and insomnia. Many victims turn to drugs and alcohol to numb the pain. Women who taken away from their daily lifestyle and family would be depressed. Because they would never be able to go back to their normal life. Victims are often deprived of food and sleep, are unable to move about freely, and are physically tortured. Victims are captured because their loved ones or people who are close to them, will sell them out. The trafficker may pay them in exchange. You will never know who could be in the human trafficking business. It’s crazy because it can happen at any time to anyone. My question is.. What do we do about it?
Where does it occur most? There are 11 countries with the highest rates in human trafficking. Thailand-11, China-10, Ghana-9, Uganda-8, Nepal-7, Sri Lanka-6, India-5, Pakistan-4, Haiti-3, Brazil-2, and Bangladesh being the first spot on the list.
