One example are schools in Atlanta. In an article titled School Violence Prevalence, Fears, and Prevention Jana Juveonen discusses the improve school safety. She discusses “Schools are using metal detectors, security guard on campus, rules and regulations regarding student conduct and dress, reporting of potential violence students, anti-bullying program and counseling and meditation (Juveonen, 1)”. Schools in the country are trying their hardest to make school a better environment for students, staffs and etc. In middle and high schools there are already security guard working and protecting the school. An article titled Guns end Gun Violence says “Although if teachers or administration had guns in school they can defend themselves and others around them”. Teachers and school personnel can defend themselves if one day a gunman shows up and starts shooting. People at the school should know that their school is safe. The article Strategy: Gun-Free School Zones said “Lawmakers must work with school authorities and criminal justice personnel to designate gun-free zones and to publicize the program within the community and to parents and students”. According to the website Centers for Disease Control and Prevention there are other violence such as Bullying, Fighting, Gang violence and electronic aggression. There are about 69% of students that are threatened in 2013 on school property. Others believe that school violence doesn’t start with a weapon but it starts with bullying and fighting and that leads to school shootings.
