Soon after in 715 A.D, the Muslims attacked Spain and Spain remained under Muslim control for over 700 years. Then in 1492, the Christians fought off the Muslims. From the 15th century to the 17th century, Spain was the most powerful and feared country in the world. In 1788, Spain attacked England but sadly they did not win the war. England then started taking over more than half of Spain. Spain managed to regain most of their country. In 1873, Spain became a republic but it was a horrible disaster. Even though it only lasted 1 year, they had four presidents. In 1931, Spain became two groups of government and split up, which started their Civil War. In 1975, Spain became a democracy and soon after they changed to a parliamentary
