Under the EEOC website there is a section on Retaliation as it relates to employment at the Federal Level, other government levels and the private sector. The website is more informative as it relates to the Federal Level, for it shows employees and employer managers on how to deal with and follow through with Retaliation issues (US EEOC Commission, 2015).

Romella El Kharzazi, Dr. Mxolisi Siwatu and Dexter Brooks an associate director of the EEOC. The article is titled “Retaliation – Making it Personal” (El Kharzazi, et, 2013). The article is a report on EEOC related operations related to Retaliation and what issues the authors found in the research. It was interesting to find in the report that Retaliation is the most common issue alleged by federal employees and the most common discrimination finding in all federal cases. The article shows data from FY 2009 to FY 2013. In FY 2009 the EEOC received 16, 947 total EEOC complaints, of which 44% of the complaints were Retaliation Alleged cases and of these cases 45% had findings of discrimination based on Retaliation, that is a total of 3356 Retaliation adjudicated cases. In FY 2013 there was 15,226 total complaints, a 10% decrease in overall complaints from 2009 to 2013, and the lowest number of complaints since 2009. Of the 15,226 total complaints 48% of the complaints were Retaliation Allegations, which is 4% more than 2009 statistics, but due to the total complaints alleged being lower there was only a 100 less complaints received (El Kharzazi, et., 2013). The number of Retaliation Complaints for 2013 was 7309, there was a 42% or a total of 3070 complaints that the facts found, were based on retaliation. This is surprising to me, since our society has been so politically correct and there is so many people looking for retaliation for wrong doings out in the public. Additionally, the litigious society also adds to the climate and thus, I was surprised the numbers went down, but in looking at the numbers over the five year span, I can see correlation of the political, socio-economical and violent society producing complaints, but the stats showed something different in that the numbers
