It took us hard work over the summer with struggles of band members' instrument being out of pitch or off timing etc. Although, it was all worth it until we heard the words from the announcer at the area competition that we can move forward state. I can remember people next me cheering and crying. In fact, this band of ours has not been in this type of event in over 33 years and it is not just significant to me but also to the band and people part of it at that time. What I have learned from this experience that with hard work pays with the time spent on .
The work that took for us to get there was not easy and took many hours in the hot sun and so forth. We got yelled at, had many repetitive rehearsals, but we all thought this dream is some paradise that is lost but would be found later on. The ironic thing about this is that our show was call “Paradise Lost”, and the name, to me, makes it seem like if this is like a prediction that came true.

That performance was better than the last one because of all the focus we put into the show. After that we ate and waited for the results to come in and when it was time, it was one the most suspenseful feeling I remember of that night.
