Although it is great to adopt a child, it can also cause debt to the newfound parents because of the high adoption costs. According to the National Adoption Education,”you still need to be careful about the amount of debt you are taking on...new parenting is stressful enough without adding the …show more content…
additional stress of debt.” Even a company supporting adoption admits that the prices are stressful and could possibly cause debt. Furthermore, they also stated that it could cost about 40,000 dollars to adopt a child today, and that could cause a great deal of debt. As a result of this debt, the parents could find it harder to support the child, and this could lead to the child's well-being at risk. The Feeding America foundation stated that more than 13 million kids in the United States live in insufficient households that cannot provide enough food, so the debt that people gain from adopting could subject the child to even worse conditions. If the adoption prices were adjusted to a lower amount, it could result in children being adopted at a higher rate and provide them with a better environment. Children all over the world are incapable of great things due to lack of education, and sadly, most children waiting for adoption go through this educational struggle. CNN, a television channel broadcasting the latest news, stated, “Once they age out of the orphanage, they often leave uneducated and unprepared for life outside the institution; they are designed for poor physical and mental health and dependency on welfare systems rather than becoming...capable of creating their own families and developing and contributing their own talents to their societies.” Moreover, the high school dropout rate of orphans is at 50% and that is if they even progress from middle school. Many people and foundations serve to help educate orphans and underprivileged kids, but sometimes it is inadequate. Many kids that never get adopted sadly end up in this situation, but one way to lower the amount of orphans is to lower adoption prices. Some portion of the money that adoption agencies collect contribute to the public school systems, but if that means sacrificing a child’s future and education, it’s not beneficial either way.
Hundreds of children all over the world have been living their lives without any loved ones to share it with, and this is extremely devastating because only a small amount are fortunate enough to someday have a family to create a new life. The Show Hope Foundation conferred that, “ There are roughly 400,000 children in the US foster care system, and only 100,000 children are adopted.” They also said that 30,000 kids age out of the foster care system (confirming that their dream of having a family will never come true) every year. During the years 2005 through 2011, four of the years have had the number of adoptions drop to under 15,000: 2008, 2009, 2010,and 2011. A child living alone during the first beginnings of their life will allegedly become isolated in the world and may never be a part of something they have always wanted, a family.Furthermore, countless children would not have to suffer if the adoption prices weren’t so high. The prices for adoption are the leading factor as to why adults wanting to adopt a child never do, and because of this, children have lived their lives without the love of a family.
Selfless actions, such as adoption, benefit the struggling children of our time, but the prices are the main reason most adults would not want to welcome a child into their hearts.
Today, in the United States, 20% of the women are unable to have children, resulting in them trying to adopt. Nevertheless, some succeed in helping a child, but most do not because of the high adoption prices. These prices tend to cause debt to newfound parents, contributes to the lack of the education of the child, and subjects them to a life without a family. Overall, the prices for adoption can affect multifarious things and devastate a child's spirit. Adoption costs should lower in order to improve the lives of children because that is worth more than a few thousand
dollars.
