I walk to the back door of the mansion and try to break into it. I search around for any form of cash I can take. I walk into the bedroom and find a sleeping man, he seems to be completely asleep and doesn't seem to be waking up anytime soon. I have to do it, I have to. I can't pass up this opportunity. I look over his sleeping body, raise the knife, and bring it down into the middle of his chest. he screams awake. I pull the knife back and forth into his chest. I laugh a little bit, i'm not sure why, but this moment is pure ecstasy. The man stops squirming and screaming after a bit. the bed and I are covered in blood. I must hurry out of here. I search the room for money, finding just enough for a bus ticket to mexico and some money to live on. I hurry and put on some close from the guy I just killed. They’re a little big but not too big that I can't wear them without looking suspicious. I wash my face in one of the bathrooms and rush out of the house to the nearest bus

I pulled my beanie securely on my head as I crouched down on a sturdy tree branch. My hunting knife reflected the dim light of the moon. It glinted letting my prey know I was there. "Yeah, I love a good chase!" I jumped from branch to branch as I chase my target. His brown hair was starting to gray but he ran pretty good for someone in their late forties. At least that's what boss lady said. I jumped down quietly as the man began to get tired. He began huffing as his pace slowed. I knocked into his back sending him into a tree. His chest heavily moved with his ragged breaths. I slowly approached him as I pulled my hunting knife back out. "Let play," I said in a deadpan tone. My eyes lost their light as I stared down at him.…

The bitter night Avah was killed the whole town was out celebrating. The Spring Festival was an annual affair and only the most isolated of persons would have not been there. It was a festival meticulously planned out by those intrigued in such matters and each detail was carried out to exact perfection. The Humphrey family would perform a skit each year at exactly six-thirty, the mayor would grace the audience with a well-planned speech at six-forty-five. At seven o’clock the potluck dessert would be brought out by the women and then once a half hour had passed, enough time for the people to converse with each other, the festival games would begin.…

As much as i hated those stinky brat (That only came to hit on my distant cousin), training just didn't feel the same without them, the worst part of this eerie silence is probably how it keep remind me i'm about to sell grandfather's dojo to pay that 50.000$ dollar debt my good-for-nothing failure of a father left behind after his death. I use to dream about a seemingly endless skyscraper. At the top of the building, there would be people who’ve made it. Those who rose beyond judgement of others, and learned to appreciate their shortcomings to find the freedom that exist at the top. Getting there isn’t easy; the only way up are stairs as endless as the building. Many people don’t make it, but up there, there’s a plaque with my name on it.…

My hand reached out to grab the ringing phone and putted it next to my ear. I heard someone speaking to me through the phone and he said ‘hello’. I quickly answered him back with a shaky voice “hello who is this?” He answered slowly trying to come me down “my name is Nick Lan, remember I said I would call. My hands were sweeting and I struggled to hold the phone. I said with a demanding voice “what do you want?” He sighed “do you have the money? “ I answered him pretending not to know what he was talking about “what money?” “The R500 000” he said. “I am getting it but I need to know if she is a live first” I said coming myself down. He replied “she is okay, but if you don’t pay she won’t be”. “I will but where will we meet” tears were starting to run down my face”.” Go to the coconut Grove Mall in 10 minutes will call you”.…
