Roger And Piggy Character Analysis
Roger and Piggy have shown how humans have the potential to be bad through the beliefs of Hitler in the story Lord of the Flies By William Goulding. Roger is a troubled evil child who torchers other humans. He also represents Satan, and shows it well. Piggy is a character who seems good and innocent but in reality can be bad at times. Finally Hitler is a terrible role model for the boys in Goldings story.
Hitler helped cause World War Two, and Leaded the Holocaust. He was also the reason for millions of deaths. As human beings we do many things that we regret, and we do evil things as well.

In Lord of the Flies Roger demonstrates his own power in Chapter 4, and experiences powers pushing back against him. In the novel the narrator states “Roger led the way straight through the castles, kicking them over, burying the flowers, scattering the chosen stones” (60). Roger has lots of power to his character, the littl’uns never questioned him tearing down their castles. He walked straight through and tore everything down and scattered their rocks. In some parts of the book Roger use his power over the island in a negative way. In the beginning of the chapter “Roger gathered a handful of stones and began to throw them. Yet there was a space round Henry, perhaps six yards in diameter, into which he dares not throw” (62). Roger has power…

The character Roger, from the beginning of Lord of the Flies, was described as a weird character. He is a secretive boy that likes to hide behind people and observe other’s actions, he is also one of the hunters that guards the castle rock fortress. Roger is equally cruel as Jack, they think the same and Roger is always on Jack’s side. Even before he became savage, Roger was a dictator and extremely rude, kicking down sand castles and throwing sand at others. He also has many faults that one would dislike him for. One of the being that he is a very destructive boy, such as when he suggested to make a bow and spin an arrow to make a fire, a regular ten-year-old wouldn't know how to do that. Roger acts this way because he has secrets that if he tells anyone he might get in huge trouble for. There’s nothing really to like about him, he’d…

Hitler used manipulation to convince the world and Germany that the Jews were bad and evil. This shows that Hitler had such a great amount of power, that he manipulated almost the entire country of Germany and a part of the world that Jews were atrocious and that they should be eliminated from planet Earth. This also shows that Hitler used his power in a negative way by using manipulation to kill millions of innocent people. When Hitler used his power in a negative way, it had a negative impact on the world and especially the millions of people and Jews who lost their lives. In conclusion, Hitler used his power that he gained from Germany in a negative aspect that then affected millions of people, Germany, and even the world. When there was an assembly, near the beginning of the book, a little boy stepped forward to speak of the Beast. Too shy to speak up loud enough to be heard, the boy grew more and more afraid of his audience, until Piggy stepped up to speak for him. He listened to what the boy had to say, and repeated it to the audience. Piggy also showed his respect to his aunt all the time. He always referred to her, “My auntie says….” Or “My auntie told me….” He would constantly say which goes to show his respect for his aunt, whether she was a million miles away, or right next to him. Piggy shows some more respect and kindness when he stuck to Ralph’s side. Even though the latter was shunned by the society he made, Piggy stayed with him, out of the kindness and respect in his heart. One would have to look for it, but Piggy does show immense amounts of kindness and respect through the novel by William…

“Lord of the Flies” (LoTF) by William Golding was written after World War II. Golding himself joined the Royal Navy which inspired him to write this book. The book was based on an imaginary nuclear war and combined the values of society, a philosophical theory about human nature and the Christian Bible stories into this book to reflect his idea – ‘man produces evil as bee produces honey’. The term ‘Evil’ is a label which humans use to describe immoral actions that are not necessary for one’s survival. This idea of humans are evil when in a state of nature was strongly portrayed, however, LoTF also explored other possibilities of human nature such as civilization, rationality and logic. Nevertheless ‘Evil’ was the intended theme of this book and Golding’s idea about ‘man produces evil naturally’ does not hold because man produces ‘Savagery’ more often than ‘evil’.…

As the novel is an allegory, each character is symbolized clearly as someone in our society. “Piggy could think. He could go step by step inside that fat head of his, only Piggy was no chief. But Piggy, for all his ludicrous body, had brains (Golding, 71).” Piggy is the scientific and intellectual aspect of society. He is a thinker, philosopher and someone who always advises for good. Similarities to Albert Einstein can also be seen in Piggy, because people did not care that he thought the atomic bomb was a bad weapon just like no one cared about what Piggy said or did.…
