Today’s Health Care Manager requires an individual to be adapt at everything from patient care to hiring the qualified associates to provide that patient care, to insure surgeons are meeting their on-call requirements, and at the end of the month, maintain a profitable business. The work load is more vast and varied than ever before and requires a number of different hats in order to be successful. This paper is going to discuss, and hopefully clarify some of what I believe are the most important roles and functions of today’s new Health Care Managers.
The most important role of function for a health care manager is to have the ability to empower people to feel in charge of doing their job while they are being lead. At any rate they have to keep the employee moral up and at the same time not sacrifice company resources. They organize, plan, and control the operation all the while by giving guidance to their employees. With all that being said they still have to be accountable for all of the programs they implement and provide proof that it produced a profit for the company well-being. The most significant aspect related to healthcare management that I want to gain by taking this class is learning how to be a leader.
My definition of the Health Care Managers role, bottom line, is that the patients care and well-being comes first, regardless of other distractions. Secondly, as Health Care Managers, we treat our staff the same way we want our spouse treated by his/her employer. As the Health Care Manager, my patients care will be my, our, first priority. From the moment they are admitted, until the time they are discharged and begin working with the therapist, we will monitor their progress, answer
