As Chief Diplomat of the United States, the President must establish or maintain foreign relationships with our foreign countries. This means that the President must make allies with our countries. This is an important role because in case a war were to happen and the United States had no allies to help us, the United States would be one of the first countries to fall apart. As Chief of State it is the President’s job to be the symbol of the United States and its people. The meaning behind this is that when you display being Chief of State you must meet with other leaders, talk to the public and informing and everyone about the problems and what is happening in the country. If the President was not fulfilling the he would not exemplify being the Chief of State. Having Chief of State as one of the roles the President must fulfill is important because the people of the country should be able to be informed about what is going on in the country and it is the President’s job to do
