Roller Coaster: A Narrative Fiction
Click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click. I could feel my anticipation bubbling inside me as we climbed up the wooden slope. Finally once we got to the top, it paused. I could feel it lurch forward, then leave my insides behind.

“How about shivering timbers?” My dad asked

“NOOOOO!” I moaned

“YES!” My sister screeched

“Do we have to.” I complained. I hated wooden roller coasters, I always think they would collapse when you ride on it.

“Yes.” My dad said, you're the only one on this family that doesn't want to go.

“Mom do you want to go?” I asked

“Kind of.” She said between licks of her ice cream cone.

“Why do you want to go anyways?” I said trying to weasel my way out of this. “Why don’t you want to go?” My dad

This is so miserable I thought. I saw the kid adjacent to me. He was on his mom’s phone. “Can I play on your phone I asked my mom.”

“No.” She said plainly she was bothered by the heat to but she did a better job of not showing it.

Finally, we were next in line. I could hear the screams of the people in front of me. I getting nervous. This is going to be horrible I thought. I could feel my palms getting sweaty as we stepped on to the cart. I heard the operator say the

I shot my mom a dreading look. I could see pity in her eyes. I felt the cart lurch forward. My stomach did a flip. NO, NO, NO, NO! I thought. I could see the first slope glide into view. Once we got to the top I told my mom this doesn't seem so bad. But the I saw the other slopes.

“NOOOOO!” I moaned. “Why!” Once we were finished with the first few, I saw the biggest one.

Click, click, click, click, click, click, click, click. I could feel my anticipation bubbling inside me as we climbed up the wooden slope. Finally once we got to the top, it paused. I could feel it lurch forward, then leave my insides behind. I could feel the wind batter my hair. I could hear my mom sister and dad screaming of pure joy, but I was screaming of pure terror. I was hunched back in my seat as I saw the other rides whizzing by. At one point during the ride I hit my head on the back of my seat.

“OWWWW.” I moaned. I could feel my head throbbing painfully. This is so unfair I thought miserably.

Soon the ride was over. When I got off I was dizzy on my feet.

“So how did you like?” My sister asked sarcastically.

“Reese.” My dad said in a stern

I looked at my mom, then at the seat next to her. Dad couldn’t come because of a meeting, but I didn’t care! I couldn’t hold myself together, I felt like I was going to explode into little sparkles of excitement. My excitement is about to burst out of my chest. I’m going on an airplane! Then I heard a horrendous sound like nails on a chalkboard, my body jerked forward, I smelt the metal nasty smell of blood, lastly darkness closed in on me, tight.…

Climbing into the lime green car, my fear was over taking me. I was getting ready to ride the Titan, an adrenaline pumping roller coaster ride at Six Flags. It was easily the scariest ride at the park, in my opinion, with its enormous peaks, its deep descents, and double helix like turns was enough to make me sick. The ride began. Ascending up in the car on the canary yellow track, into the humidity filled, bright sky, the people observing from below resembled little army ants . The aerial view of Dallas was breathtaking, as I reached the peak of the ride and looked around. Passengers occupying the cars in front of me started falling off, like a cliff. I let out a high-pitched shrill, as we plummeted toward the Earth below. Traveling…

After we went to the bathroom and changed our wet cloth to our dry cloth, we headed straight for the roller coaster. I’m not going to lie, I was afraid if most of them, but my big brother told me it’s not scary it is fun. That made me feel brave and bold. The first ride I rode was the Fiesta Texas, where you go up and fall straight down. I was terrified, but after I saw a five year old looking boy get off, I wasn’t going to let him be braver than me. It was finally my turn. When we were going higher, I could see the people as dots, I thought in my mind I…

I still remember exactly what I was feeling as I walked up to “Wild Fire”, the fifteen story ride that with my luck included a full loop, corkscrew, and high-speed spiral. It was the perfect day to be at an amusement park, with no clouds in the sky and the park in a busy chaos. I was with my family and two best friends as they were on a mission to complete every roller coaster in the park. I, on the other hand, was just hoping that I would enjoy the rides originally created for ten year olds. Half way in our journey through Silver Dollar City, I had managed to skip nearly all the rides my family rode, including a mini roller coaster that still did a wonderful job of scaring me just by watching the coaster crawl up the…
