Worldview Assignment Romans1-8 teaches us many things regarding how we were created, why we exist, and what comes next. More specifically, it emphasizes the natural world, our human identity and relationships, as well as the culture we live in. Throughout reading these chapters, I have also considered Paul’s teachings in my own personal biblical worldview. In writing Romans, Paul reveals that God created the natural world in a way that is evident for all his people to see. He writes in Romans 1:19-20, “Since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world, God’s invisible qualities-His eternal power and divine nature-have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made so that Men are without excuse.” God reveals himself to us in three ways: Creation, Scripture, and human flesh. A reason for this would be the sheer complexity of our minds. We all think independently, causing conflict within our own minds, as well as others. Paul’s letters go into great detail on the topic of homosexuality. In Romans 1:26-27, Paul describes homosexuality as unnatural, and distorting of God’s image. “In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another.” (Romans 1:27) He further explains to us how our willingness to serve the creation and not the creator, as stated earlier, destroys Gods image of natural and right human relationships. The ramifications in today’s society are the rejection of healthy relationships God has laid out for us, and the pursuing of what Man wants for himself.
